Members DJole Posted September 8, 2018 Members Report Posted September 8, 2018 Is that part of your range land in the one picture? No wonder you guys get torn up riding through the brush! You need arm chaps, too! Quote \D. Jole \ --> <http://djole.altervista.org/djole/Publications/Leather/Lindex.htm>
bikermutt07 Posted September 9, 2018 Report Posted September 9, 2018 Great job. They look good enough to go to town in.... Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

There were places where it was so thick we had to get off our horses and work our way through it. It seems I only have two options... make a suit of armor or toughen up. -Ryan Quote

Members PigasusStudio Posted July 29, 2019 Members Report Posted July 29, 2019 Nice work! How's your friend liking them now that it's been a while? I was kind of scratching my head over the oval patches on the legs, wondering what function they served, or lacking that what they were supposed to symbolize, until finally zooming in and realizing they were pocket openings. How cool is that? I come from the horse world, even western-style riding, but never wore or was around people with chaps as I never did any work or even rodeo, just pleasure riding and showing far far away from any actual ranch. My loss, certainly! My only close-up experience with chaps comes from the motorcycle world, and I can't think of any I've seen that have pockets. If I ever get in to making chaps (highly doubtful) your work might well inspire me to add pockets. :0) Quote ~~~~~~~~~ Our studio, and me, Becca, with Supervisor #1: Lu C. That's good news. I kinda want to make a pair for myself now lol. The pockets sure come in handy since it makes it easy to get to your phone and you can't get to your pant pockets when wearing chaps Edited July 29, 2019 by Rolandranch Quote
