Members Jack1970 Posted September 28, 2018 Members Report Posted September 28, 2018 Hi folks! I just finished a basketweave belt that I think turned out ok. This was my first time tooling on Wickett and Craig and I really enjoyed working with it. It was also my first time using Angelus finishes and I found them pretty easy to work with. Quote

alpha2 Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 Fantastic job! Nice even antique job. Jeff Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members Jack1970 Posted September 29, 2018 Author Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Thanks a lot, folks! @alpha2, that Angelus antique is really easy to use! Jack Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted September 29, 2018 Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Looks real nice! Is there a reason the stitch like doesn't connect at the top by the name? Quote
Members Jack1970 Posted September 29, 2018 Author Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Thanks! Yeah, the main reason I did that is because the beveling around the curve next to the letter J goes all the way to the edge and I wanted that tooling to be clean all the way to the edge. Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted September 29, 2018 Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Good reason haha Quote
Members Riem Posted September 29, 2018 Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Exceptional work! That's a real proud piece. "Thou shall not covet..." Members Handstitched Posted September 29, 2018 Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Makes me want to go to my workshop right now and practice my basket weave skills......which are not as a nice as that . Members Marietje Posted September 29, 2018 Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 That is really nice! My basket weave skills are terrible when I see this. Quote Diplomacy is... telling someone to go to hell in such a way that he is actually looking forward to the trip...
Members noobleather Posted September 29, 2018 Members Report Posted September 29, 2018 Great layout, antique application and I like the initials and the concho. Top work all-round Quote
bikermutt07 Posted September 30, 2018 Report Posted September 30, 2018 That is a wicked belt. Beautiful layout and execution. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members BDAZ Posted September 30, 2018 Members Report Posted September 30, 2018 Beautifully done! It will look even better over time! Bob Quote
