Hi, needles are not universal, you need a certain type of needle for your machine. just ask the seller to send you a couple or ask him what type they are. if that fails then internet.By techies do you mean techsew?? If so your machine is in this list. you just need to find out which are round point (for cloth) and which are spear point (for leather). check out the Grosz Beckert page. Iam sure they have both types. Hope this helps.

Yes, totally understand. Its truly an exhausting hunt, they seem to have marketed " their " designation was the be all end all. ya right!

So in that rant, your gonna see this question alot and there are many that fit yet slight modifications for a particular setup. I mean some factory machines run like rockets and a certain stitch angle is obtained by some super fine designs of the needles.

The short of it is your looking for "system 135 x 17 " needles for textiles meaning any weaved canvas or fabrics. In these there are your as you mentioned sizes for different thread sizes i.e. 18, or listed ( NM:110 Size 18 ).

With your interest in leather you may want a leather point needle as mentioned, They Cut and also may cut other threads on reversing. but in any case  they are Listed for that machine 135 x 16 and designated Leather point.

some of the dealers here above have these for your benefit or the e place has them

good day

Actually, they will work in leather (although if it's too thick or hard they may stick coming out!) and should work in lighter garment leather, but in general you'll want leather point needles, particularly for veg tan. It's always handy to have an assortment of needle types though, just in case.
