After a little training, I decided to try to make a portrait of my wife.
The work is not finished yet - only embossing and carving are done, there is still a coloring to be done.
Yana (my wife) has already seen this and I am still alive and I was not even kicked out into the cold :)

Thank you, @VYO! I very much hope that coloring will not spoil it.

We've seen your color work, and we are not concerned about "spoiling" ;) I like it already!

Really great work.  As with your other portraits, colouring will not spoil it!

Tom

Tom, thanks for your comment!

I expect to finish the coloring before the Orthodox Christmas. I hope I have time.

@ABHandmade, another stellar bit of work Sir. When I read the title I was sure you were the bravest person I've ever met. Glad she didn't kill you or cause you any other type of harm! It looks awesome and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Yes, in vain I started it. But nowhere to retreat :).

Thanks a lot, @battlemunky!

Thank you, @Smartee!

We have a long weekend (3 days) in Ukraine from tomorrow and I expect to finish work on these days. I really hope so :)

Finally I finished coloring. Used acrylic paints and spirit dyes.

That is absolutely outstanding! Awesome work! One can only aspire to do as meticulous of work as that. It sets a high bar. :)

Every bit as nice as I assumed it would be.  Seriously, this looks great - right down to the glisten in the eyes ;) Laquer?

Thank you for appreciating my work!

@JLSleather

Thank you!

Yes, the gloss of the eyes is provided with a super-gloss polyurethane varnish. And it is partially applied on the lips. The rest is covered with matte polyurethane varnish.

@Northmount

Tthank you, Tom!

Many of you have tremendous talents in other equally important areas. And it is wonderful that there is an opportunity to communicate and learn something from each other.

This is really nice work. True art. You and your wife should be proud of it. A lot of work and stress as if it didn't come out right you may have been moving to the dog house.

Thanks, @datdraku!

This work was the rare case when I never heard “you need to spend less time with your leather” :)

@kgg, thank you for compliment!

This, it seems, was the main incentive for me to invest maximum effort in getting a result :)
