Caracal. Leather carving and simplified embossing (without leather insert). Veg tan 4 Oz, spirit dyes. Size 3.5 x 5 inches.

I applied too much lacquer and as result small fur details because of this “lost”. It's a shame until tears :(

HEY BOSS .. this is the definition of "good hair day" !

I mean the largest compliment on this great work - to be sure nothing is lost in the translation, I'll use this more graphical fella :notworthy:

Amazing work for just one year of carving!  It's amazing what what can be accomplished in a short time if you put in the effort.  I guess time in grade doesn't mean jack like some people think it does.  You have surpassed the skill of people who have been at this for YEARS!

If this is with 'reduced details', I am truly amazed. In full definition, I bet I could see flea bites!

By the way, after the lacquer finally dried (after a day), most of the details again "returned". Apparently, this is a feature of polyurethane matte varnish. So I was upset in vain.
