ABHandmade Report post Posted March 16, 2019 Some time ago I started having problems with access to https://www.tandyleather.com/ (https://www.tandyleather.ca/, https://www.tandyleather.eu/ - same) Error 403 Forbidden The problem is constant and repeated over several days. I wanted to ask, is it only when trying to enter the site from Ukraine or someone has the same situation?

mikesc Report post Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Both work from France..Just accessed them .. Try using a proxy based outside the Ukraine..That will let you know if they are blocking Ukraine IPs.. Try using a Russian proxy..might be they are just blocking the Ukraine .. Why they'd block either is a mystery.. Thanks for the warning And as for dust bunnies, I can’t even remember a special word in Ukrainian for that. Well, except that the word dust is "poroh". 16 minutes ago, alpha2 said: If only we could convince Russia that Ukraine isn't Russia. I can phone and ask them* ( Tandy HQ in Fort Worth TX ) when they are open next week .. *No problem..Unlimited worldwide ( with the exception of a handful of countries ) calls and data plans on my phones..fixed lines and cells.. Point them to this thread..and to Andrey's work https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/85137-mountain-lion-for-my-wife/?tab=comments#comment-577226 ( I'm sure they'd like him to be using some of their leather to work on )

Mike, I did not even count on such a radical way of solving the issue Thanks!!! I am definitely not a valuable customer for Tandy (most of my purchases are books and some tools). But in Ukraine there are a sufficient number of people working with leather, who, I think, will be glad of the possibility of continuing their purchases through website TandyLeather. bermudahwin Report post Posted March 16, 2019 Two ideas, try using duck duck go to search and go in com there, Try using the cached page search with Google, it may get you in. Ok third idea, try a different web browser. And a fourth, try a smartphone or tablet, rather than a computer, or vice versa. H

mikesc Report post Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Yep.."Geo Block" Blocking.. I 'll ask why..sometimes it can just be a sysadmin who isn't precise enough about what ranges are allocated to who.. Or who just thinks that they won't get any customers from "X" and so blocks "X" to save bandwidth ( 403 isn't many bytes, but if that is the intention there are better ways to do it "upstream") or protect against perceived risk of "intruders" .. If they are running a Geo IP ban.intentionally ( might be that they need to update their tables GEO IP list, or up/grade/date their feed if they are using something like maxmind's paid feed, if it is unintentional ) , then they probably would not send items to your country either..
