Hello All ... I’ve been working with some leatherworkers, as well as woodworkers, and making them aprons. Martexin #10 original waxed canvas and Horween Dublin pockets, as well as oil tan straps.

Very nice!  Is that the same kind of canvas that Filson makes their  'Tin Coat' out of?>  Sure looks familiar.

God bless

Very Impressive apron, what are the dimensions of the apron, if you don't mind?

I've thought about using wax canvas for a few projects.  Can it be saddle stitched like leather?

Duck Duck gooooooo to the rescue.....couldn't find my catalog in the pile.  "Filson's 15-oz. oil finish Tin Cloth is relied on by loggers, foresters, sportsmen and tradesmen. To create our iconic fabric, a tightly woven canvas duck fabric is saturated with a liquefied paraffin wax and oil mixture under heat and high pressure ... "

This is what I've understood from my research so far:

You can stitch it by hand but you can't pre-punch it because it will eventually unravel.  Also at the ends you need to turn it and double stitch it because it frays.  Canvas to canvas is really a job for a machine.

You can stitch leather to canvas  by hand, but pre punch only the leather, not the canvas.

I put an edge on all my waxed canvas with an overlock machine.
