Members Dave1717 Posted March 25, 2021 Members Report Posted March 25, 2021 Hello. I’m new to leather work. I found a walking foot sewing machine but it doesn’t have a model number or serial number. It has a sticker or something on the back. TSMD. I don’t know who makes it. Can anyone help Quote
MtlBiker Posted March 25, 2021 Report Posted March 25, 2021 Can you post a photo of the machine? Quote
CowboyBob Posted March 25, 2021 Report Posted March 25, 2021 It's a generic one made in China, lookup model Brother# 797 or Artisan 318 the parts are the same. Quote
Members Dave1717 Posted March 25, 2021 Author Members Report Posted March 25, 2021 Ok. Thank you. By any chance is it worth $300? Quote
Members Dave1717 Posted March 25, 2021 Author Members Report Posted March 25, 2021 I just wanted to know if at $300 I was getting a good deal. Thank you Quote

Thank you You did not sew with it before buying ? . Only way your going to know if it's worth the price paid . You need to oil and manually cycle the machine. You need to plug it in, string it up, and lay down some stitches . If it a mechanically sound stitching machine, then 300-$ is a OK price. . Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted March 26, 2021 Moderator Report Posted March 26, 2021 That is a dual feed upholstery leather, cloth and vinyl sewing machine. The outside foot works in sync with the feed dog to claw the work back. There are probably aggressive teeth on the bottom of the feet to help it feed. They will mark the top grain of veg-tan leather and leave deep tracks. Quote
Members Dave1717 Posted March 30, 2021 Author Members Report Posted March 30, 2021 Thank you. I went ahead and purchased a consew 118. I don’t know how to thread it and seller had no idea. Dose anyone know how to thread this machine? I have looked in YouTube but haven’t been able to see one like this Quote
Uwe Posted March 31, 2021 Report Posted March 31, 2021 The manual for the Consew 18/118 might be useful: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1273358/Consew-18.html Here’s previous topic on the Consew 118: The threading is the same as the machine in this video: Quote
Members Dave1717 Posted March 31, 2021 Author Members Report Posted March 31, 2021 Good morning. Dose anyone have info on a servo motor to slow it down. Easy to install easy to use and will not brake the bank. Thank you Quote
JJN Posted March 31, 2021 Report Posted March 31, 2021 These are great servo motors and are at a good price. https://tolindsewmach.com/motors.html Quote
