Contributing Member fredk Posted September 20, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted September 20, 2021 A leather bottle? yes? Over here a 'canteen' can mean many things, such as all the things needed to eat a dinner, eg cutlery, glasses, plates . . . . Ok. so I'm only teasing ya! But a leather water/wine flask type thingy. As long as you don't want to see it too soon I'll try making one. I've been wanting to make a sort-of copy of one from the ship Mary Rose The original; And someone else's reproduction of it; It involves some wet moulding, so I'll have to set to to make the buck but I'll not be doing it exactly as that other person did it Quote Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
CFM Frodo Posted September 20, 2021 Author CFM Report Posted September 20, 2021 No time limit. I have 4 or 5 projects ahead of mine also Quote Singer 66, Chi Chi Patcher, Rex 26-188, singer 29k62 , 2-needles Stand your ass up during the National Anthem

After they are dry I saturate them with a blend of beeswax and paraffin. After that they get a final "lining" of brewers pitch. I would think that the pitch would be tough on it's own. Also, if you don't mind me asking, who are you buying your brewers pitch from? I've had trouble sourcing it from sellers who keep it in stock . Quote
