freak Report post Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) mollie crap corn. you just pimped your work space. Dang man that's a very ,very, very, very nice set up. That's gotta rule to be able to stamp on any part of the counter top. I never even thought about doing it like that before. Great now i've got another project i need that i can't afford. Thanks Dave ! Edited October 8, 2007 by freak
Jordan Report post Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) any takers on how long it will stay that clean and organized! LOL Spills and such should clean up nicely. Edited October 8, 2007 by Jordan
Dragons Pearl Report post Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) I want one of those! The kitchen table is all I have also. But then again, I don't have enough room for a separate work bench yet. I still need to shop around for a top piece at the headstone and counter shops for when I do. Really sweet looking bench tho. Gives me more ideas to use when I can make mine. CitizenKate Report post Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) You can add me to the jealous list. But how long do you think it will be before that nice, tidy bench top is covered with tools, patterns, tape, brushes, dye bottles, notes... Kate ... and I did notice that beautiful carving you had sitting there. Edited October 9, 2007 by CitizenKate
Guest Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Ok here is the workshop, it is about 14'x14'. I know I'm very lucky to have such a space in my basement. Pic 0817 is my 25 year old Craftsman workbench with my new granite top. Pic 0818 is my staining table with my lathe tool sharpening system on it. Pic 0819 is the misplaced freezer that my son is supposed to take....gotta get that out of my shop Pic 0820 here you can see my poor lathe sitting on the floor....it will go where the freezer is if I can get my son to come get the darn thing. Pic 0821 various other power tools and my stain and finish cabinet. Pic 0822 look at all that stain on the floor! It is 60% off at Tandy now....being discontinued. Pic 0823 do you think my scrap bin is too full? Have to get to some of those smaller projects..... Pic 0824 hide table....and just for you Beeze....see all those boxes under the hide table? Those are seat pans. So be careful of what you wish for. Pic 0825 the required shop vac. That's it my whole shop Dave Theobald

Guest Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Steveb I must admit my Ipod didn't make the pictures....oh well mine has pictures on it not tunes. But I have to admit that I'm a bit concerned about the hand grenade hanging from the shelf....mmm. That must be for a real bad day! I like your shop. well laid out and very efficient.....as long as you don't pull the pin  Dave
Jordan Report post Posted October 9, 2007 My new shop space once it is done will be 10x10 with rubber tiled floor, drywalled and insulated, a 3x6 workbench, a sewing machine under the window, floor to ceiling storage shelves, computer, stereo, fax, fridge and phone, a clicker, a moulding press lots of lights various benchtop tools, a couple of stools, an airbrush and finishing hood and maybe me if I don't gain anymore weight..... well a feller can dream right? Chris B Report post Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) Awesome shop guys. David, so that workbench is sturdy enough to handle the granite, apparently. But there is not that much give? I have one, and never thought about it. THANKS!!! Edited October 9, 2007 by welder5724

Gray Report post Posted October 9, 2007 I'll bet if we all showed up at David's place we could get that bench properly messy in no time...nice job, guy. steveb Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Dave - yeah the grenade was a desk accessory at my "yob" but i got the sesne it was stressing people out - especially when i would play with it when i was on the phone...ha!! have all of my handtools in a craftsman tool box (6 drawers ) to the right on the bench and a host of other crap that sits behind me - 2 Bosses, a Singer 29-4, an Econosew, a drill press, compressor for my airbrush rig, belt sanders, two motorcycles, motorcycle lifts, rollaways tool boxes, etc.. if my wife would stop using her bay in the garage (not likely) I could spread out a wee bit and have a real shop - but for now - I "keep to my side"....well, for the most part anyway. who thought using (wasting) a garage space for a car was a good idea? steveb
Rayban Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Not beer bottle in sight, sup with that??
JohnD Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Dave, How do you get anything done with all that neatness???? steveb, With all the neat stuff you have hanging around your shop the thing that caught my eye was the T.P.
Guest Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Wow, nearly everyone has mentioned the neatness....guess I am a bit of a bug about that; but it is a small enough room that moving around is impossible when it is messy. As for the beer bottle? I'm a tee totaler....for the last 25 years any way. Dave

Regis Report post Posted October 10, 2007 Hiloboy, "NICE" shop! I see that New Hermes TX(?) engraver sitting on the bench. Are you doing signs or trophys with it? Sold mine a couple years ago (space issue as "sometimes" somethin' has to go). Sister-in-law in Atlanta has one with lots and lots of fonts she wants to sell cuz she's gone computerized.
