In a rebinding thread I made a post about starting a rebinding project on a Bible. This is the before and after of that. I had an old Bible laying around. It's actually the first Bible I ever owned, bought back in the 80's. It's got a few loose pages and the last page is torn near the spine. I carefully tore off the cover and was able to save the end pages which I'll reuse. I had to remove quite a bit of glue off the spine. I'll take the title page and use it to repair the torn last page. I gave the text block speckled edges with a maroon base to hide the browning of the page edges and added some bookmark ribbons. I remade …

Not at all sure where this belongs or what to call it . Wife buys these acrylic photo holders and we have several . They are 3/4 thick ( 2 x 3/8 ) and work on magnets . So I got to thinking ................... if double caps would stick well then I could put some leather on them . Also makes 2 holders out of 1 ( yep , I am border-line genius ) wife just says I'm tight !! Needs a little heavier weight , this is 4/5 oz , and would work better I think .

Hi all, this is a new area, and I hope that someone can help me. I am looking for a Bible cover, and though I found a couple by Hunter & Scribe, I cannot identify who that is to contact them. Well, The idea was good but the application when down the wrong road. I have changed the coloring more times than i will say. Border is squirrely. I knew the stain was not going to look right in the beginning, lot of fill in, I am going to give it a smudge look any way, The leather length is 1/2 inch too short. So, i cut edge of rear back of binder to correct. I thin the leather came from a pig because I am using a lot of lip stick.

I made this for her birthday coming up. I started doing lether work a few months ago when I needed a knife sheath and a hunting pouch for my flintlock. A few weeks and about $600 in tools and leather ( having a tandy store 5 minutes from my work is dangerous lol). This is my 3rd tooled project and I'm happy how it turned out.
