For a knot-tyer I just made 4 sheaths for marlinspikes and a double sheath for fids. His customers were more interested in the simple leatherwork than his intricate ropework. Ga... Updated 03 Mar · 0 comments

About Me

I started with leatherwork withhout thinking about it as leatherwork. In the 80's I made a knife shafts and sheaths the Scandinavian way. I made knives with home-forged blades. After a while i found this branch to be a little "narrow" for me just to make sheaths.
Then I had a few years of fly-tying. As a bureaucrat in the police I just sat working at a computer all day for many years. Wanted to do something with my hands, and also have a hobby after retiring. Eventually I came into contact with a local dealer like Tandy (called "Skinnlåven" = Leather Barn). Hooked. Began making pouches and snuff boxes for the cops and customs. For a couple of years I've been trying to use the swivel knife and a few tools. More fun than only sewing, I've found out. This website helps me a lot. Even if most of you make too beautiful items. My work you can call Rustic Leather
