I assume the UK is too dear also? I did a post a while back about this where I posted a link to Partwell. Usually sold in packs of 60/100 so heavy. Better off looking for die makers who might sell you some.

Cutting board 1 2 3

I'm a beginner and currently using a wooden cutting board made of oak for cutting leather with a head knife. I have a feeling that that cutting on wood makes the knife dull. So, can you please recommend some natural materials for cutting boards. I dislike using polymer/plastic products. What is the traditional surface for cutting leather with a head knife? Thanks.

After a rocky start to retirement I finally have most of that past me. I am nearly full time in the leather tool shop now. With that, my goal of being able to open up the leather tool sharpening service has come about. I still have the same 15 year old policy free resharpening for tools purchased from me. If you have other tools were not purchased from me or have not been a previous customer, I can take those tools for resharpening now. I have a new page on my website describing the services and cost estimates, plus a brochure/pricelist for downloading at https://brucejohnsonleather.com/sharpening-services . Thank you! - Bruce

I'm sure someone else has already thought of this and it might have been posted already. I put a six prong hole punch into my drill press and it works really well. I was considering buying a press so I could avoid waking up the neighbors and the jarring to my hands/arm from hammering. Some of my mistakes on my first project were a result of shifting the punch ever so slightly as I pulled the hammer back to hit. I think this is an approach that will help me and maybe some others.

Anyone know of a commercial 45 degree edge cutter?... something that will accommodate more than straps?... or even an existing product you know of that might be modified to achieve the angle? Thanks...

I finally got tired of doing calculations in my head when trying to find the centre of something. Since I was taught, trained and worked in the Imperial and US systems until Canada converted supposedly to the Metric system. Normally the Imperial system is my go to for everyday type measurements. So I finally broke down and bought a 12" centre finding ruler sometimes called a doubling ruler. The ruler: i) Imperial measurements up to 12" or a you can get a larger 24" version ii) Two scales. A measuring scale and a centre point scale iii) Material: Tempered Stainless Steel iv) Sold by US Tape Company (https://www.ustape.com/product/centerpoint…

Mercadolibre Hi, I'm trying to buy the hand press machine that you input the dies, however when I lived in Mexico I used the one that has diameter of 6mm X 11mm (inferior X superior) but on Amazon or on the internet that I can find is from China with diameter 6.3mm X 12mm and my dies just don't fit in. What's my option... do I just have to reach Mexico or do you guys know a website that have what I need ? it's the third one I'm buying... I just don't want to replace all the dies I already have bought ... what are your thoughts?
