Nice saddle JW, I made a Tuscon once on a factory tree that looked very different than yours. I like yours much better. Who made your tree? Great workmanship! -Ty-

Hi, I also am using Intuit to build a site. Is it easy to publish then go back and fix any problems? I like Intuit and have been working on building the site, but wasn't sure how easy it is to go back and fix any mistakes. Thanks and I like your site's set up nice and simple to follow. -Amber (Ty's girlfriend)

Thanks Aermotor, I use his regular bar. If I understand Ben Swanke right he uses the same bar in a swell fork as he uses in a wade. But I was recently told that he has a little wider bar that he calls a Bob Douglas Wade Bar. I would sure like to try it if thats the case. I sure think swanke's on the right track because his trees sit a horse as good as anything that I've ever used even if you have to catch something on a loose cinch they just seem to stay put.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I like to stamp my swells on the tree and I usually lay a heavy strap over the swells to figure out my angle the best that I can but by the time I get to the base of the swells my angle is going the wrong direction due to the curve of the swells. I don't know how to lay this out better and fix this problem. Any suggestions?...

Hi All, I haven't posted anything in awhile, but here's my latest saddle. It is made on a 15 1/2" Will James tree by Swanke. Tree has a 4 1/2" cantle, #4 horn, and 13 1/2" front. Feel free to critique my work as I am always trying to improve...Don't worry I have thick skin so don't feel bad. -Ty

Nice clean work Billy! Your stamping and stiching looks great! -TY-

Thanks all! it means a lot coming from all you pros!

How can you dislike anything about that? It looks great! I like the flower center with the seeds better. -Ty-

Thanks Troy, Barry, and Ben for the compliments. I'll be sure and post some pictures if I ever finish the saddle. As slow as I am it might be a while. lol Thanks again, Ty

Hi Kate, This is actually Tyrel's girlfriend. I was wondering how to download and set up a Concrete5 website. I am trying to build a website for Ty, but don't know the best way to go about it. I checked out Concrete5 but couldn't get it to download on my laptop. I found a site that helps you build and manage a Concrete5 website, but just wasn't having much luck with it. Could you please help me out? Thanks in advance! -Amber (Ty's girlfriend)

Here is a fender of a saddle that I'm working on.This is going to be my first fully carved saddle, I've made some corner carved ones and a couple 3/4 carved ones but this is a first so let me know what you think and feel free to critique my tooling or my pattern. Thanks, Ty

I have a Tap pattern that is very similar. I usually rivet mine but it would be no big deal to lace them. I make most of my taps with sole leather but I have made some out of rawhide with this same pattern. P.M me if you would like the pattern. -Ty-

Thanks Storm, Colter and Tim for your commments. I borrowed the flower from Chan Greer's belt book and I drew the rest. Thanks for catching the banged up border, I was so busy trying not to forget any shading or decorative cuts that i forgot to smooth out my border. I have a question. I use my lifter and then bevel am I doing it backwards or should i bevel first?

I made this belt yesterday. Paul Kelleher made the buckle set that is on it. Let me know what you think and feel free to critique my work...

Just gettin started, could use a little advice
Tyrel replied to tbode's topic in Saddle and Tack Accessory Items
What kind of questions do you have? I would be glad to try and help. -Ty- -
Thanks Bobby, I've been checking out some of your work and its given me new goals to shoot for! If you ever decide on holding some tooling classes you can sign me up! Thanks again, Ty

Thanks Steve, The rope is my most popular ruff out stamp but I also use the carlos border and barbwire that look pretty good too. -Ty-

Darc, Thanks for your comment and your advice. I see what your saying now after looking the pictures over. I get so used to doing something a certain way it takes a new set of eyes before I can see what im doing wrong. I tend to use shorter skirt on longer trees and longer skirts on shorter tree but i'll be trying to improve my flow lines and the balance on my saddles. Thanks again, Ty

Thanks Steve, I am getting more orders all the time for skirt riggs, my most popular riggings are still flat plates and dee riggings but people are noticing the good narrow seats and close contact with the skirt riggs. I like them too! -Ty-

Thanks, JW, for the compliments!!! Yes, this ring is used for a rope strap. This is a very simple set up using a ring of rubber as you can see in the picture. Guaranteed not to lose your rope, but no guarantee that it will break if you are hung up! Thanks, Ty

Hey All, This is my latest saddle. It is built on a Ben Swanke 15 1/2" Will James Tree. It has rough out seat and fenders with a rope border. Everything else is smooth out and basket stamped using an Ellis Barnes basket stamp and Barry King border stamps. I put in an inskirt rigging on this saddle also. Let me know what you think and any ideas on improvements...Thanks!!! -Ty
