  1. Here is my other collection of Gomph tools. These are the overstitchers that are made by Gomph. There are 2 missing from this set also. I need the #11 and the #12. I have the set from #5 -#6- #7-#8 -#9- #10- #13- #14 -#15' The side doors swing out and hold 14 stamps in each side . That is a total if 28 stamping tools and 4 swivel knives. two of the knives has a rubyat blades in them and the other swivels have ceramic blades in them. The box is made of walnut. I use to work in a frame shop as the woodworker and got to have some of the scraps that was left over. and we had lots of walnut left over. I have miter saws and miter clamps at home so i made this box with the walnut and for the front I use 1/8" by 1 1/2" strip to make the pattern in the front. Box swings open on both sides and is great for this tool collection. If you can concieve it you can achieve it. you just have to belive in yourself and have to tools to do the job. that is the real secret, have all the tools you can lay your hands on.
  2. . This is my collection of Gomph tools. Most are over 100 years old and still look brand new,and yes i do use them for my leather work.Took awhile to get most of them. I still have a few to go but here they are. The Leather box with the reddiamond tuck leather has the creasers(a little about the box at the end of the tool talk)The tools at the top right hand side are a set of 6 creasers that are called round edge creasers. they leave a very wide crease. the next two on top left and the two ont the bottom left are a set of double edge creasers. there are 4 to this set I am missing two of them #5 and #6. if you have them and want to help me complete the set plese contact me.the last set is a complete set of single line creasers that are are from #1 to #6. . I also have two swivel knifes with this box. now to this box. The box is conered 100% with leather inside and out. The inside of the box is covered with a diamond tuck red leather with solid brass tacks. I covered the outside of the box with 3/4oz calfs leather. The outside of the box on the edge is set with strip of gymp the was cut out with a Hand made scallop punch and solid brass tacks on it. the tools are held in place with a strip of walnut that I cut holes with my 3/4"foresner bit. for the tools and 5/8" for the swivel knifes. the front is got a layer of red diamond tuck with solid brass tacks with the outline cut out with another smaller handmade scallop punch. I have a clint motenson concho for the knob. I still need to put "Gary's Leather Tools" on the front and put a larger concho of the top of the front. hope you liked it. Gary
  3. Elton Thanks, now I have drool all over my keyboards.man this shop rocks I am envious. nice collection of tools. WOW.
  4. tat ebay is not really a good place to figure out tool prices. there are over 2500 people trying to sell tools there and have depressed the tool market. in essence they have flooded the market with tools. if you are a tool buyer it is good times if you are a seller you are going to lose your tail. tools that i use to sell for 8 to 10 dollars are now selling for 1 to 3 dollars because of the glut. Don't know where to send you but ebay is not the place.Gary

  10. This is for a set of vintage gomph Single Line Creasers. They are made by the Henry G. Gomph tool company est.in 1866. this set of tools are over 100 years old and in great shape. The tool handles are made of rosewood and the ferrules are made of solid brass. there is very little pitting if any on the tool steel. the solid brass ferrules are all in great shape. the rosewood handles are in good shape. the #2 and #4 has small cracks in the handle but will not affect the way the tools work. A great set and a nice set for any professionel leather workers set. It would make a great Christmas present. 15. This was a project that I really enjoyed doing. It was a folder that was made for the methodist church here in Santa Fe. They wanted a folder or book cover so that the builders and people who donated money and time . I made it so that you could put a couple of pages in it for them to sign. It was tooled with the praying hands on the back. The front has lettering that denotes it's purpose. dyed to spec the people loved it. I ran a small strip of gymp with parachute spots on it. It was a nice project to do.
  16. Rusty WOW that is a beautiful piece of work you have done here. I hope they paid you a real pretty penny for it because it is well deserved. Keep the great work and keep inspiring people to be as good as you. Gary
  17. Here in New Mexico the Bolo Is part of our heritage. you see all types of them. made of silver and turquoise or any type of object that people like . This Bolo was made for a customer and he provided the silver Zia . the Horn is the base of the horn. I made a clip that i screwed on the back of the bolo to hold it on the leather bolo and made it so it could slide and be adjustable. The tips of the bolo was made from the tips of the Elk horn and I put a silver cap on them and soldered a loop on the end. on the leather side I soldered a piece of silver on top of a small silver pipe and souldered a loop on it and used E6000 to glue the leather to the silver pipe and used a jump ring to connect them together. The bolo leather cord is made of deer skin and is hand cut and done in a four round braid style. It makes for a soft pliable cord that is perfect for bolo.

  22. New Yorker use the same amount of pressure when pulling the stitch and when you have completed it use a overstitch wheel to straighten and align the stitchs. made sure you use the same size wheel as the stitchs. ie: if you are stitching 8 holes per inch use a #8 overstitch wheel. it makes for a very professional look. Gary
  23. Well I got the hint. If you post a picture and let people know that I will show you how to do it they will come and they did .lol. So I decided to post the instructions .now you can get the instructions at leisure.enjoy the instructions and if you need more help please feel freee to contact me at: leatherman1457@aol.com keep in mind that the brass can be modified to make bracers or any shape of design your imagination can come up with. I have made some of these 3" wide and made pendants to match by cutting out the shape of the pendant out of 18 to 20 gage brass and soldering a bail on the back and them proceeding like the braclet. women like bracelets that are a little thinner so I use 1.4" for women and 3/8 " for men. 5 1/2 to 6 1/2" long for women wrist and 6 1/2 to 8' long for men.
  24. nice feathers Randahl
