  1. I like them all. They look great. I would like to know where you got your makers stamps? What is leather grease?
  2. What a fantastic topic. Thanks for the great write up. What finish do you use after burnishing? Tom
  3. I bought some of the dura edge to try. I haven't had it on anything long enough to tell how well its going to hold up, but so far so good. It comes with a big dauber as an applicator, but I've used cotton swabs when applying to smaller/thinner edges. The more coats you put on the better it looks. Hope this helped in some way.
  4. Thanks mkleathers. Just what I was looking for.
  5. If you've already got the 220V in your workshop, then I would get the 220V motor. As mentioned, it will be a lot more power efficient.
  6. Thanks. I was going to ask, but didn't want to hijack your other thread. I've got a piece of wood that I cut to model most of the smart phones, and use that to try and form/mould my leather. The pictures would be great. I've seen presses and heard of people using vaccuum sealing, I was just curious how you did it.
  7. I've searched and searched the tuts on here. I do have all 3 volumes on my buy list.
  8. I would like to know/see how you all form and sew pouches. There are a lot of knife cases, extra clip holders, smart phone cases that look great. For example, mkleathers has some pouches that look terrific- http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=31546 Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
  9. WOW!! Those are fantastic! You sure do amazing work. Keep posting more pics.
  10. Give the folks at Pfaff Industrial of America a call. They have some really good service techs and knowledgeable folks that can help determine what you have. The number is 770-447-7545.
  11. That's awsome. That would be a really cool looking belt as well. The only musical instrument I can play is the radio, but I can see nice craftsmanship. What is a DH?
  12. Welcome to the forum Chris. It's nice to see another WV hillbilly on here. Everyone here is extremely helpful and will help you any way they can. There is a very deep well of information here, so just keep digging and asking. Tom
  13. The basket weave is really nice! I really like the roper wallet.
  14. I bought mine from a dealer on here. Great machine. Great customer service. Art-where can I get a hammer like you mentioned?
  15. Reaper. Well the obvious difference is the Boss is manual and the GA5 is electric. I just bought a GA5 and really like it so far. I also thought about a Boss, but I didn't like the idea of only have one hand available while the other is pulling the lever. I'm happy with the decision I've made.
  16. Holy good looking book cover Batman. That looks awsome Kate.
  17. I brought mine home this weekend. Be sure to post pics of what you've sewn with it Steve.
  18. I've never seen a pattern, but there are lots of pictures on here of ones that people have made. You might try asking some of those folks or look at the photos to see if you can draw one up by looking at the pics. If you don't feel comfortable making one by looking at the pics, just contact one of those folks. I bet it wouldn't cost much, everyone on here is pretty helpful. Just give it some time for everyone to look at your post.
  19. I should be getting mine in the next few days. I can't wait to try it out.
  20. I might have dreamed this, but I THINK I read somewhere that there is a Crest Ridge saddle made in India(?) and a Crest Ridge made in the U.S. From what I remember, the US made saddle was a decent saddle, but the other one was junk. Hopefully, some of the experts will chime in and give some insight. Or maybe I'll have the dream again.
  21. Very nice Tim. I really like both of them. For me, I really like the backgrounding around the cross. But like Bob said, it's a matter of taste. How did you do the backgrounding?
  22. That is interesting. I'm guessing the gel type? Does it dry out the leather much?
  23. That is just amazing Pat!! Where did you get those conchos?
  24. That's nice Boothill!! I always enjoy admiring your work.
