I've never tried it, but been wanting to. It might be worth a shot to call Weaver's and see if they have any suggestions or tips. -

Same here Randy, its been a while since I've been on here. I'm curious how you attached the embroidered velvet piece to the leather. Nice job! -
My last few orders have been from Springfield. I completely agree with the OP, very friendly staff. They will get most if not all of my orders from now on.

Is Synthetic Thread Company Still In Business?

I believe Sythetic thread was bought by American and Efird. I think A&E has thread that size and Coats may have it too. -

Wow. That is some amazing basket weave. Great job. Are the slings from a kit or your own sling design? -
Very nice outfits. My wife would love for "us" to have outfits like that and drive our buckboard wagon around for everyone to see.

Any One Interested In Or Making Horse Harness
wvcraftsman replied to Stitching Pony's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Pony, I'm in the same situation as you are. I'm still kinda new to leatherwork and would like to make some harness some day for our horses. I hope more harness makers chime in and give some good examples. -
Those are good looking hobbles. What size leather did you use? I used nylon hobbles on our draft and she just tore them in two. They were made from cheap and thin nylon. I was hoping they would have lasted a little longer than they did. I would like to make a pair from leather, but not sure what size to use.
