Thanks Blake. I'm looking them up now.

I'm looking to find fleece or wool to line breast collars/bridles with in a color besides the golden. All I can find is the golden color. I did find some at Weaver's, but I don't have enough for the min buy.

Very Nice! I can't wait to see it finished. Is that your own design?

Tooled Purse
wvcraftsman replied to hidepounder's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Well, since your asking for crtiques, here it goes.... 1. 2. 3. I can keep going if needed. Seriously, as always Bob, your work is simply amazing!!! -
That's awesome!! Did you print the shirt too?

Thanks King. I'm sure that's what I did on this belt. I made my son a belt at the same time and it didn't do that, but I didn't put as much on. I wanted a real high gloss on my wife's belt. I just got over zealous with it. My next question is then, how do I remove the old super sheen so that I can redo it with either the super sheen or something new?

I have always put some neatsfoot on after dyeing. It helps keep the leather supple and keeps the leather from drying and cracking. If you let the oil soak in (say overnight) it shouldn't transfer to clothing. Mine never have. I normally use 2-3 coats of neatsfoot before applying a finish. I hope this helps.

Old Holster

Thanks. It sure was thirsty for some oil. It soaked it up as quick as I put it on. -
My dad gave me this old holster. I am hoping someone might be able to tell me about how old and who the maker is.

I"m still very new to leatherwork as well. I've never bought from Zack White, YET. I've always heard great things about them. I am close enough to them (4-5)hrs. that as soon as the snow quits falling, I'm going to make a visit this spring/summer. From all of the positive reviews, I'm expecting wonderful service. With the ever rising price of gas and shipping costs, it's a wonder anyone can afford to ship anything. It will probably be cheaper to have them ship to me, but I have family in that area anyway.

What happens to the Tandy store managers? The store in Richmond done the same thing last year. Do they move to a different store?
-
Dang it. How did I miss these?!?!
-
I had a feeling that they might do what reddevil said they did. I'm glad I never bought any. Thanks.

Charlie - Would you let us know how it turns out. I've thought about getting some of these wheels, but wasn't sure if they were any good.

Thanks CW. Thanks to SOS for starting this thread. My wife is wanting me to make a breast collar for her riding horse and wants a few rows of braided rawhide in the center.
