  1. HI Bob I saw your post and was looking at my wallet snap. I was wondering... do you think there is a chance that you got your snap parts in backwards and or upside down? Do you have anything else there with snaps that you can look at? I haven't set any snaps yet, although I have some and I have always wondered how to tell which parts go where... I guess it is just like anything else that comes with practice. here's a picture of my wallet snap. Hope it helps By the Way - Nice Notebook! I love your work!

  7. I wonder – how long after applying the Neatsfoot did you dye, and then how long after applying the dye do you put the Resolene on? I always wait a day for everything to dry. I apply the Neatsfoot on dry leather and wait a day. Apply dye and wait a day… etc. How long do you wait, Cyber?

At least you are busy working away at something productive.

I can't even get a project off the ground juggling family duties, work and a puppy. My Springfield order keeps calling me from its box

Four of The Barred Owl is what I was listening to in different places of my usually very quiet neighborhood for about 1/2 hour. Sends chills up my spine...

I freaked out the puppy listening to that haha.

Our barred was being chased by crows and then I scared the crows away. I hope it made it home safely

  12. I just had the very same problem. I hate that - when you have spent so much time on something just to mess it up at the end... After the first coat dried it was all streaky. Yeikes! Then I figured I couldn't make it look any worse so I applied a second lite coat with a small scrap of cotton towel and in a circular motion. Just keep going around and around till it looks OK. *It looks just fine now - not a sign of a streak.
  13. Fingers on my Right hand are Numb... How do you folks hand sew for hours?

    1. Sylvia

      Sylvia

Numbness is NOT good. I took lots of breaks. I would stretch your hands first, work until the cramping started then stop, shake my hands out, stretch and work my fingers until it subsided. Then continue until I felt it coming on again... and take a break. Get some ice on those wrists to reduce any swelling and take an anti-inflammatory over the counter med. If it doesn't get better.... see a doc.

Thanks Sylvia. Well my fingers didn't stay numb and there was no swelling. They were just numb when stitching. This is the first time this has happened... Usually I am using both hands & 2 needles to stitch, using the Pony to hold the item. This time I was holding the item in my left hand and an awl and a needle in my right hand. Gues maybe I need to make the holes a bit bigger so I don't need to use the awl. And take a break!

  20. Ed, I'm So Sorry to hear of your loss. My Prayers are with you...
  21. Hey Thanks - I wasn't sure what to call it. I found Mylar At Amazon in page size sheets and also a large roll of 5 mil that is 40 inches wide by 12 feet.
  22. You didn't mention size or whether it needs to be stiff or if flexible would be OK. I always keep any clear plastic packaging and cut it into smaller sizes I may need. I don't know if it can be bought at a crafts store, but that is a possibility. Also you might use a clear plastic page protector - it could be cut into 2 large pieces. Hope this helps
