  1. I also think your intro video on YouTube is awesome. Did you do that from scratch? Having done some animation I can only imagine the work that went into that! Chris
  2. Excellent video, I always enjoy videos by forum members because its cool to not only see what they're working on but it kind of let's you get to know them in a way. I also think its cool that you involved your daughter in the process. Really like the T-shirt design as well, very well done and professional looking. Chris
  3. I think it has a cool look to it. Skulls can be a tricky thing to do because of the reversal issue. I find that skulls with an open mouth make it a bit easier. I'm not sure which software you use with your engraving laser but I know with my software if I did the same skull reversed from the way you did it the teeth would probably be pressed down instead of being raised. But either way I think it looks cool the way it came out. Chris
  4. Sorry for the late reply folks. Been busy lately and hadn't gotten around to checking my emails. Thanks. Mine started life as a Harbor Freight X2 mini mill. Since getting it I've made a lot of modifications to it, cnc, precision ball screws, custom made belt drive for the spindle, etc etc, but it's still basically a Harbor Freight mini mill. Thank you. That does sound like a cool idea. If you come across any graphics that you think would work well send em my way, I'm always looking for additional graphics to use. Yeah the acrylic has been a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect it to hold up as well as it has. So far so good. I do have other materials laying around that I can use as well, like delrin, but I wanted to give the acrylic a try out of curiosity. I'm trying to get some harmonica work wrapped up so I can get back to experimenting. I'm thinking about making getting back to work on some of the leather tools that I made when I first got started. That sounds like an interesting proposition, but due to amount of work it would take to disassemble, pack out of the basement, then crate to ship, I'm afraid my laziness is going to be a problem. :-)
  5. Wow!!! I don't know what else to say. Chris
  6. I wish I could get the detail that a laser setup like yours can do but so far I've been pretty happy with the results I've gotten from my little mill. And since I'm doing it for the fun of it it's not that big of an issue for me. Chris
  7. Not bad. I haven't stamped a lot of stuff with them yet and since I use my arbor press a lot of times I'll put a piece of 1/4" thick aluminum on top of them to distribute the pressure. But I have stamped with them without the aluminum and they didn't crack, but I'm not sure I'd want to do a lot of stamping with them without the aluminum plate.
  8. Wow those are amazing. I'd never want to wear them to weld in though, I'd be afraid of ruining them. Chris
  9. Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. It is definitely a learning process and I need to make some corrections to my mill, I have some inaccuracies that are apparent when I'm doing the tiny text like that. Chris About an 1 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" long. Chris
  10. Just finished this one. It didn't come out as good as I'd hoped. There are some inaccuracies in my machine and it really shows up in the text. I can clean it up a bit manually, but I would have preferred it come out right the first time. Chris
  11. Just finished this one a little while ago. Milled from acrylic, stamped with my harbor freight arbor press. Chris
  12. I think I might take some 1/4" aluminum and epoxy it to the back of the stamp to make it even stronger, but so far it seems like it works fine without it. Chris
  13. Me to. I didn't really expect it to. It's milled from a 1/2" thick piece. Chris
  14. Thanks. It all started because I wanted to make a makers stamp, I'm sure eventually I'll actually get around to it. LOL This particular stamp was made from a graphic that I used to make an airbrush stencil. Chris
