Google Search Results Containing Malware
Beaverslayer replied to Dennis Oakley's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Yes, by reading the discussion on that forum, it seems the Admin found the infected code in some cache files. They stated that the code was fixed, but they had no idea as to how the code got there. Noted also that it's the same forum software as this forum. -
Google Search Results Containing Malware
Beaverslayer replied to Dennis Oakley's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Well Cyberthrasher don't worry about that big change request, as doing the hard reset on my router did nothing to change the problem. I've done a complete scan of my computer as well and am still having the redirect happen. At this point, who knows what to do, I'll just keep closing the hijacked window when it happens. I'm going to send Google a scathing email as well and see if that does any good..... -
Google Search Results Containing Malware
Beaverslayer replied to Dennis Oakley's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
In all the reading I've done on this, it is also possible that our routers may have a virus in them. There is so much information on the web about this type of thing, going back at least 3 years, right up till now. There are a few reputable forums that have "DETAILED" instructions on how to get rid of some unknown virus, but in all of them, you have to download many different malware/cleaning software, send them the log files....download more software...send log files again, and keep doing this until the redirects are stopped. Others say all you have to do, is to install Firefox "No Script" add-on, but all this did was hide the problem, and screw up trusted pages that needed scripts. I'm going to try a "Hard Reset" on my router a bit later today and see if this changes anything. -
Google Search Results Containing Malware
Beaverslayer replied to Dennis Oakley's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Winter, I just performed the exact same search as you, got the exact same result page. I clicked the same link you did, but was redirected to a different "Scam" page. It told me I was the winner of some Visa Gift Certificate, also knew I was from Calgary, as the browser address bar was blinking saying congratulations Calgary. By what I am reading from Googling about redirecting links on Google, this has been going on for some time, and may actually be an old virus of some sort that has nothing to do with Google. I'm doing a complete scan right now, hopefully nothing shows up. -
Google Search Results Containing Malware

Johanna, I've tried this a few times today and it's not just Google results for this forum, but many different Google results are being redirected to rogue sites. I have no idea as to how to send Google a message that they would believe and do something about. They would most likely think I was just some crack pot who wears a tinfoil hat all day and night. -

Google Search Results Containing Malware
Beaverslayer replied to Dennis Oakley's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
I use an application called MyWOT and it lets me know which Google results are trusted or questionable by placing icons beside each result, even Google Images. It also works inside Facebook as well. I just did a Google search as others have done above, and clicked on one of the recommendations from Google that was not trusted, it sent me to this website: NOTE: DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK OUT OF CURIOSITY http://om55nh8.onmypc.info/joomla/ It brings up some survey scam. I just clicked the above link from inside my post, and it brought up "Adult Friend Finder" website, MyWOT shut it down right away, and brought up a screen informing me of the dangers of accessing this site. It gives you the option of entering and even rating the site. I also clicked many of the results listed as "Trustworthy" and none of them were a problem. So, to be safe while surfing and searching, I'd suggest you go to http://www.mywot.com/en/download and download and install their free software, I think you'll appreciate the added security. -
Welcome to the forum for starters... Regarding the gluing of the pigskin liner in, if you only glue it at the edges, you will most likely get wrinkles in it as it folds. If you glue the entire liner, then sew it, the wrinkles should not be a problem Regarding that stabilizer bar, I'd just use a thick piece of veg tan, say 10/12 oz. That way if you have to, you can place extra rivets through it where needed and not have to worry about drilling new holes through the steel one after it's inside the leather.

A member here, from China posted this link the other day in another thread. I checked it out, and they sell all kinds of cool stuff...even looks like you can get Gucci and such logo plates (personally, if you do order from them, don't get any of the "knock-off" logo plates, you'll probably loose your whole order in customs). The only problem I see with them, is a minimum order of 500 pieces. It has been my experience with Chinese suppliers, that f you request a reasonable number of "Samples" they will sell you a smaller amount. Here's the link: http://www.zuohua-bagaccessories.cn/

What I have always done with real good results is exactly what dirtclod said. I'll wet the back of the piece, then set it on a smooth flat surface and ten put my granite slab on top of it. Leave it like that for a day and it should be as flat as flat can get. It will tend to curl up at the edges a bit after doing this, but it's not anything that will be of concern.

Need Bracer Straps Using No Metal Parts Or Lace
Beaverslayer replied to Charke's topic in How Do I Do That?
Like Tree Reaper said, attach a strap with a slot cut into it, then use a bone, antler or wood button. Here's a link to a website that sells antler buttons...good pricing by the looks of it. http://antlershop.com/products.html -

Cobra Under The Rainbow
Beaverslayer replied to Beaverslayer's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks Aurelie, yes the zipper took a bit to figure out, but once I did, it was quite easy to actually do. It's attached very well, and there should be no problems with it, could be stronger than if it were sewn in with a machine. -
One other solution is to replace the ballast in each of your fixtures with a high-efficiency electronic ballast, and replace the lamps with T8 high-CRI florescent tubes. This will give you a much better light as well as energy efficiency comparable to LED lighting. You should be able to get them at Home Depot or any industrial lighting supply store.

Mike, these LED would be a better idea than the xenon you linked too. LED is far more efficient and does not create heat. Another plus, is that LED does not attract flies or bugs. http://www.nslusa.com/ledthinstar.html

Christmas Present Bike Seat
Beaverslayer replied to Beaverslayer's topic in Motorcycles and Biker Gear
Thanks for the compliments everyone, they are greatly appreciated. Spincycle, No sorry I didn't take pictures of the underside. I took the factory cover off the seat, cut it up on the seam lines and used it as a template. The factory cover was glued to the foam as well as glued and stapled to the underside edge of the seat pan (plastic seat pan), so I just did what the factory did, glued and stapled it. I ran into a bit of trouble, as I couldn't get the spring assembly apart, the carriage bolts just spun in the plastic pan, so the stapling was a bit hard to do, and it caused a few wrinkles to appear on the edges of the pink leather. -
Welcome to the forum from another Canadian, where abouts in BC are you at? Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
-
I made this for my sons girlfriend for Christmas, she's a big Peter Pan fan, and is getting a pink bike for Christmas as well. The pictures don't show it well, but the side leather is actually quite pink.

Collar For My Other Kitty

Great job on the collar, love the way you used the pink thread and matched it all up. I see you didn't use the gold plated buckle and d-ring though. -
Cobra Under The Rainbow
Beaverslayer replied to Beaverslayer's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks guys for the compliments, they are appreciated. chancey, it took a bit of thinking, but once I figured it out, it was pretty simple to lace the zipper in. You just have to be sure to buy a zipper with as wide as possible fabric section. The liner and the outer shell are glued to the zipper, then laced all together prior to doing any other construction. -
This is my latest creation, I call it "The Cobra Under The Rainbow". It's made from garment Lambskin with Cobra side panels. The zipper has a real cool looking rainbow color to it. The inside is lined with pigskin suede, and it's all laced together with garment goatskin lace except for the white lace on the strap which is cowhide suede. It was a bit tricky getting the zipper laced in rather than sewing, but once I figured it out, I now know it can be done quite easily. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful looking, I especially like the way you made the border look like three levels.
