  1. My wife uses one. Does it have the original stand under it ? Pictures would help determine value.
  2. Cool. I like the combination of materials, looks great, I bet the leather is better on the skin than the Kydex?
  3. I respectfully disagree Ours goes a lot more than 5/16 inch, shown here with a regular singer household machine for size comparison
  4. Well I won't be at work and have access for a while, here's a better picture.
  5. Yeah, they are heavy. They usually use a small picker or one of those in box crank cranes to install them!
  6. It needs converted to a Vector graphic. I have Adobe Suite at work that would do it if nobody else gets to it first.
  7. Needles fine, it doesn't penetrate the material It just reacheds up though the hole after and grabs the thread. The awl does awl the work (zing!), and it needed changed anyway. Though, it didn't look any different after going though the penny.
  8. I seen it on the Campbell video. Had to try it on the Randall
  9. Don't forget good used machines. We acquired 3 heavy stitchers for the price of a new 441 clone, I'm not putting down a 441 clone in any way, shape, or form, in fact, I want one, eventually (next year, plan is to drive down to that big show in Wyoming and purchase one, I want to check out the show, and that will save on shipping, 2 birds, one stone so to speak) Anyway. The machines we purchased were all in good working order, 2 of them have paid for themselves twice over, these old machines were built for several lifetimes worth of work, we were able to test them before buying, as they were setup and working, and one of them turned out to be a diamond in the rough so to speak. We had to drive 4 hours to get them, but it was well worth it, keep an eye on the local Kijiji, Craigs list, whatever, we waited 6 months and stumbled into all 3 virtually at once. You also have to not get machine crazy, we looked at and turned down 4 others in months before finding these, if its not the right machine, your unable to test it, or its severely worn, walk, others will come up. I'm severly tempted by Wiz's ULS machine, its on my list of machines to eventually own, and you know its been skill-fully maintained and never abused...that 441 clone might have to wait another year Shipping that sucker to Canada would be the only pinch
  10. Thanks, I'll check it out next time I'm there.
  11. Where does one acquire a clasp like you have on that bag?
  12. Another option. Swing by your local funeral home, they quite often have a headstone that's either dropped and chipped, or sometimes the wrong info on them, or even being replaced, and they are no good to them. My wife works at a funeral home and there's lots of scrap granite. Best it gets some use, they usually just have a pile of them Be prepared though, these are usually pretty thick.
  13. Oh. Cool! Thanks for the info, Gomph makes more sense, now that you said it, I can make out the first "O" is actually a "G"
  14. No idea what it is really. It was given to my wife when she started getting into leather work, we think its a strap cutter. Only marking on it its "oomph" Seriously, oomph! Best guess we had was strap cutter? Its obviously seen better days, but the handle is tight, the screws work and it adjusts just fine, neat conversation piece if nothing else.
  15. Still learning. None of the needles I got with mine have 3 digit numbers, they all say: Landis 8 Landis 3 Landis 6 Landis 5 etc. Some of them are pretty thin!
  16. If it was 1/4 scale it would fit on a quarter horse. Sorry. Couldn't resist. nice job!
  17. I thought you could buy Cowboy machines in AUS though Jim Saddler: http://leatherworker...ndpost&p=121026 While not 36", the cowboy CB5500's arm is 25"
  18. Funny you posted, I was just exploring needles the other day Here's a picture I took. On the left, a regular household machine needle (110/18) and on the right, the needle I took out of the Landis No1 we acquired to see what size it was, it...big.
  19. Campbell-Randall lists a needle for Champion machines: http://www.campbell-...y&path=49_82_88 Maybe Campbell Awls will work? Not sure on that one. In "getting to the point" Part 2, they list the thread as being 4-9 Cord: http://www.campbell-...Point-Part2.pdf There's also a needle and awl chart near the bottom of that PDF for the Champion based on thread size (277-554) Also see the note underneath that chart:
  20. PM me for my email address, email me the picture, and I'll get it posted for you
  21. As the title says, I'm looking for a thread rack for a Randall Harness stitcher, anyone upgraded to a direct feed version from Campbell and want to part with the original? Thanks. -Trev
  22. It says CB4500 in the title, so I'd have to guess its a Cowboy 4500, how about calling the manufacturer? I've read he's top notch and should be easy to reach.
  23. I would have to assume so. That would allow you to use there wax pot version as well. I'd call Campbell and see, they've been very helpful with me.
