Very nice, particularly fond of the elephant rig. I recently rushed my first attempt with it, and while I failed miserably it sure did look good!

The holster turned out nice. I personally avoid having the sight hang out like that. Not only to protect the muzzle but also to avoid the front sight trying to hang on the draw.

No problem at all. The color on that sheath, and the sheath itself, is awesome. Great work.

I reload, therefore I have real magazines with brass which has been deprimed and bullets seated. Is it a necessary precaution? Probabaly not. Sure would hate to find out the hard way, though. -Robert

That's the fanciest Gerber (or look like) sheath I've ever seem, nice work!

I am able to get great retention and maintain tooling, I would argue that this is mainly an experience issue. I'll add a picture of a recent rig that was dunked in a sink for 7-8 seconds, allowed to rest, then molded by hand with latex gloves on. A lot of this has to do with the surface that your tooling on too, IMO. Anywhere you really stress the leather it will push out the tooling in my limited experience. Dwight and Mike are spot on though. Keep trying!

50/50 Resolene with a sponge brush, I love the mellow tone.

I cut it 50/50 water resolene, a lot of times more than that with water and apply a few light coats with a sponge brush. Nice and even to my eye, and easy. The holster looks really nice!

The pancake is for a standard government, the picture just makes it appear a little long in the tooth as I was a little rushed to get it out the door and didn't process my photos until after the fact. My un-'enhanced' work doesn't stand out as well as yours either, but would venture to say that 75%+ of my orders have stamping of some kind. I currently have a pair of 6.5" N-frame belt/holster/dump pouch rigs on order that are both basketweaved. My hand hurts thinking about tooling them but I do really enjoy the finished outcome. Technically my B/W is going the wrong way - I was told once 'that's not how you weave a basket.' Well I'm embossing leather, not making a basket, and I'll keep doing it how I feel looks good Sorry for the long -winded reply Mike, thanks again. -Robert

Hey Shooter, up until this rig it was done on an acrylic board with a wooden mallet and craftool stamps. These were done with my new 24 oz Barry king maul and marble slab but the craftool stamps are the same. If I can get this definition from these stamps i can't wait to get some 'real' stamps! When it comes to hardware I only offer those buckles. It's too hard to please everyone. I always have and always will use quality hardware though even if I'm the only person that knows/notices/cares.

Thanks shooter, it's pretty methodical and after a long day at real work somewhat soothing although my dog begs to differ. I just recently bought a Barry King maul for tooling, and got a real marble slab instead of a acrylic. The black 1911 rig is the first I've done on that stone and I think the difference is quite noticeable. Now for some real stamps...... The buckles all came from here: http://www.buckleguy.com/ Shipping is quick but always pretty pricey too, I tend to buy a lot at once. The roller buckles are B1187 and the heel/bar buckles are B1049. I've worn one of these roller buckles since December on the first gunbelt I made and really like how it's performed.

The matching combos have become pretty popular. The high rise Glock 36 is pretty interesting, after wearing a mock up for a week or so I didn't get the tip out I expected. The instructor who it is going to knew it might take more than one shot to get what he wanted and I affectionately refer to the rig as 'lipstick on a pig.'

I will lean with Mike on this one as well. 24 hours tonwards the longevity of the piece shouldn't even be a question. It may work but I'm not willing to find out at my customers expense.

Mark, I'm a little fish in a big ocean so this is worth what you paid for it. I have found that through the molding process, especially when heat is involved, the leather drys out fairly significantly. Not only does the oil even out my colors which is a big bonus it also replenishes the leathers natural oils. That's the way I see it, in any case. I've found when I slow down and give every step it's necessary time better results come hand in hand. In other works make one without, wear it, and then you'll know. Guinea pig is the only way I get anything myself these days!

Jeremy, You done good. I recommend resizing the pictures since it was large even for my 24" monitor. My only pet peeve is the makers mark up front. Throws off the flow in my eyes but that is a personal matter. Nice work again! -Robert
