  1. The dye was fiebing's I did use tap water at work on this piece the belt I did a few weeks back I did at home I'll try a scrap piece there tonight. I have already formed a new piece and have the tooling done, I spoke with the customer and they said brown would be ok if I cant get the purple to work I have some turquoise I may try. Thanks for your help
  2. I have not tried to buff it yet; I usually try to give my projects 2 or 3 coats letting it dry between each coat. This started to turn gold within a few moments I tried it on some other scrap pieces and it did the same thing. Not sure what happened I dyed a belt with the purple a few weeks back and it came out great, I may just get another bottle of dye and see if that’s the problem, I don’t think it is though.
  3. Hi Sylvia Here is a picture you can see the paper I had on the table is purple it has a brown tint where it leaked trough to the table top.
  4. I was making a new cell phone case for someone, got it all formed and tooled they wanted it purple. Wet the leather and put the dye on, it went on ok no blotches, but when it dried it came out Antique gold? Looks kind of cool but not what the customer wanted I have used this same bottle of dye on a belt and it came out great. I’m using 3-4 ounce oak tanned leather good stuff I’ve used it with other dyes and no problem any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Doug
  5. Real nice job I like the color and lace
  6. Looks cool you see a lot more men with man bags in Europe than in the states.
  7. That's cool I wonder how it would work mounted vertical with a movable table top one that could be adjusted to the same height as the notch. You could even add a second wheel that could add resistance something spring loaded, maybe ever a wheel on either side to keep the material flat if you were just doing straps. How fast does the motor turn 1500 rpms maybe would it work beater if it ran slower?
  8. Great job good use of colors, where can we see more of your work.
  9. Looks cool what materials did you use?
  10. I like the way it looks nice job
  11. I’m new but here you go over all it looks ok some things you may want to consider for the next one. The stitching looks good nice and even spacing, try and keep the awl going the direction of the stitch some of yours are turned 90 degrees and it makes the hole look oblong. Change your image size when you upload the picture I think it turns folks off when it come up so large it also shows all your mistakes. Try and use a camouflage tool with more texture that will give your carving more contrast, also try using a beveller on the detail instead of just using the modeling tool. I guess its like every thing else practice practice.
  12. Looks cool I'll have to give that a try I have the press and most of the other items, I wonder if you could glue a tape measure blade to each end of the table to make it easier to adjust it. How much pressure do you need to use to get a good imprint?
  13. Nice job I like the color.
  14. Nice Idea for displaying a knife.
  15. Great looking rig as always nice color and use of bling.
  16. They look good do you offer them in different calibers? Are they lined? Do you offer any embellishment at an additional cost?
  17. Thanks for the info you must have some good strong hands and elbows if I stitch for over an hour I can’t close my hands the next day. That’s a lot of hand stitching. You do great work.
  18. You sure do some nice work KT I have a few questions if you have some time. How long does it take to complete on like this also what sewing machine do you use? Do you make your own design's? How do you market your work? I see your work on a few knife forums is that how you got started?
