Another very nice, clean and functional rig. Fine work. -
Welcome Beary. Your mauls look to be of the same first- rate quality Ed produced. I look forward to having one as soon as finances permit. Keep up the fine work.

Beautiful work as always, Ed. Saw Beary's mauls posted on here and it looks like he's doing a fine job of carrying on the the family tradition of quality tools. I look forward to the day I own one.

Unusual and interesting. Hang in there KT. You're only a couple years older than me and, right now, an inspiration. I always look forward to seeing every new piece of work that you do.

Fantastic! Amazingly realistic flowers.

I'd like to help but. I honestly don't understand the question. I'm fairly new to leather working myself , but I don't recall ever seeing these ratings/grades. Are you asking about what leather you should use for a particular project or just how leather is rated in general?

New Iwb Holsters For 1911's And M&p40
Rhide replied to woodandsteel's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Excellent! They look like they'd be very comfortable too. -
WOW! Fantastic, as usual. The horse is amazing...very lifelike. The family (?) one is touching. I love the fact that you make many of your own stamps and hardware. This brings a unique touch to these beautiful works of art.

My first try at a clock face. (actually my first leather carving) Its 10 1/2" x10 1/2" square and the carved pattern is 8" in diameter. Made from 6/7 oz veg tan and patterned after a Gustav Stickley tray. I haven't completed the dye and finish process yet,so any input is welcome. Please excuse the photo quality, I've never tried to photograph leather before. Maybe I should have put this in the critique section instead. Feel free to move this if it's more appropriate there.

Great Idea. Gives me some thoughts on what to do with the jackets we own that have...ahem... shrunk over the years. Never have been able to throw the memories away.

Finally Something Fancy
Rhide replied to kid terico's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I keep coming back to look at this work. The metal throws me off. Is this something for display or is it permanent? Your leather work is ,as usual, first class, but I'm unsure of the other. -

Where's The Quality In "custom" Gone
Rhide replied to Chief31794's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
There's been a sign in my shop for 20 years that reads: I have no quarrel with those who will do it for less. They know what their work is worth. As far as setting a parameter for what defines "custom", that's something you need to do for yourself.
