can't figure this one out.
glockanator replied to glockanator's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Yeah I liked it (so much I took my wife later that night) and saw it again. Thanks for all the help I think he might be getting a holster for christmas. -
Is that the stuff from Tandy? I made a holster from the piece I have I ended up glue it to a piece of 6 Oz leather that way it worked as a lining on the holster.

I guess no one was interested.

Here's the deal I have approximately 100 snaps that I am not going to use. I will send them to some one free but you have to put up something as a Karma give back. It has to be related to leatherworking and the giver pays shipping. I will let this run til 9/10/16. If you want in just simply comment I'm in. I will randomly select a winner and send them too you.

I was going to say the same thing. I have found that if you give taps and a ir ular motion they seat fine. It's a lot like peeing over a rivet. If you just hit it with a big hammer it will cause problems.

Kel tec per 16 holster
glockanator replied to jbdunn's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
http://pin.it/A8p9qrh If I was going to make one I would go this route. This design could be easily modified to fit several different needs depending on how you plan on carrying it. -
Anyone tried to make bicycle grips? Would love to make some just not sure how to go about it.

Image transfer holster
glockanator replied to glockanator's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks for bringing this point up as I forgot to mention it. As this was my first attempt at anything like this. I did use a iron to hest the image after I let it dry for a couple of days. I think an oven would work better though. -

It was dry. The one thing I will say was this was my second attempt. The first one I did not leave to dry long enough so when I put on the resolene it faded bad and made the image all muddy. On this one I let it sit for about 3 days (may have been over kill) and then buffed it before I put the finish on. It still faded but not like the other one did. -

9 foot reins questions
glockanator replied to glockanator's topic in Saddle and Tack Accessory Items
Thanks for the info. I was pretty sure that I was going to have to stitch them together just wanted to make sure. -
A buddy of mine asked me to make him a set of reins that are 9 feet long. It seems pretty straight forward except I will need to splice in a section to make the 9 feet. Would it be best to slice glue and rivet or skive glue and sew? Thanks for any advice.

So I have three different color threads for my boss. White, red, and dark brown. When I use the red and brown on my test pieces they run perfect. Start on my project and the top thread starts shredding and a huge know on the bobbin side. If I change to my white and make ko adjustments it runs perfect. Any suggestions on why this might be happening?

Tipp Man Boss Skipping Stitches
glockanator replied to glockanator's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Thanks for emailing them Dwight. After putting in a new needle and readjusting my presser foot tension it seems to work a lot better. I haven't really had a chance to put a bunch of time into since my 3 year old just his tonsils removed as well as we are trying to move. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your machine now. Thanks for all the help. -
Sig Nightmare
glockanator replied to Boriqua's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
A friend a work bought one of these and wanted a pancake cross draw for it. I informed him I would need the firearm to make the holster. He told me that he had spent $2700 + tax for his and that he would need to stay with it. I told him that was fine. When he asked me for a price I told him that it would be $270 for the holster. He looked me square in the eye and said "You know I can get a Uncle Mikes holster for like 20 bucks" I responded and said " That is true but this is a custom holster and i will have several hours into making it" long story short he told me that was way too much and that he was just going to buy a cheaper holster to carry it around. A month later he told me that he bought a holster from MerNickle for 350 plus tax. -
Tipp Man Boss Skipping Stitches
glockanator replied to glockanator's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
So I bought new needles on Friday and they just got here. I paid for 2 day shipping so I could get orders done. I received an email on Monday saying they shipped and I should have them on Wednesday. I have to say I am not very impressed with Tippman's customer service. I have called them several times es and either get put on hold forever or I am told I will get a call back from a technician but never hear back. -

I changed bobbins back to the one that worked. Not much improvement. When I bought my machine he said that the needles were mixed new/used. I am going to buy new needles and junk all the ones I have. Do I need to buy needles from Tippmann or can I get them from some place local? This is the back of my machine. It looks to be in place but I can see some has marks to the right of the bushing. Is that normal or has it moved?
