  1. The holster looks good. My experience with the embossed stuff just wasn't that great for what I paid for it.
  2. Is this the stuff from tandy? I bought a piece a year ago and have only used maybe 4"×4" square piece of it. Was not impressed at all. I had the same thought to make a holster with it but it never made it that far.
  3. Thanks! I was just going to cut a back pocket out one one my work pants that are ruined but now I don't need to.
  4. I do the same thing with my tools. I have been meaning to make some for the guys at work just haven't had a chance to yet. Would you mind sharing what dimensions you used.
  5. The copper rivets have more surface area and tend to hold better. I would give those a try and see what you think.
  6. Are you dead set on using that style if rivet? I have always had good luck with the copper ones.
  7. Oldnslow I just picked up a used Boss as my first machine and can't say enough good things about it. If you have the money I would get one.I do mostly knife sheaths as well as holsters on mine.
  8. I texted mr. Jones yesterday about these. He told me he won't take anything less the $80.00 a box. It seems the best way to get a hold of him is through his phone.
  9. If you get on ebay and do a search for Ted Blocker holster it comes up with a few for fairly cheap. Worst case you could just cannibalize it.

  11. My mom works for a couple of lawyers who all excersie their 2A rights and lot of them carry my holsters. I have talked with 2 or 3 of them about this and the common answer I got was. "You did not force me to buy this holster or even to put a loaded gun in it. How can you be responsible for that?" so take for what it is worth. Also I am in Utah to give you a general area of the country that I live.
  12. https://youtu.be/hqYBjrxNyMg This is a great video on how to measure spacing.
  13. Sorry for not updating this. my parents are meeting with the adjuster on Friday (tomorrow) I should find out something before the weekend. I have talked with the neighbor and he said they would cover any cost that the adjuster doesnt. When I find out more I will let y'all know. Thanks for all the great advic. The worst part is I got my newly used tippmann boss but don't have a place to use it or know where any of my projects ended up.
  14. I have made two SOB holster for Phoenix PD one of which is my brother. Both love them very much. Say it conceals well. Two I carry a G23 in a pancake OWB concealed. from time to time the bottom of my holster sucks out the bottom of my shirt.this caused me some grief with a mall security guy. He called the PD and when they showed up all I said was there was no sign posted saying I couldn't carry on the property. If they want me to leave that is fine didnot mean to cause any problems. The PD turned to the Mall security and told him he was in the wrong. Lessons learned if you a total concealment holster than you can't get to it quick. If you want to get to it quick you loose some concealment.
  15. The flood was caused by a neighbors sprinkler system. Yes the insurance will cover "some" things but I am not holding my breath on them replacing the sides of veg tan. I finally got a good look at the pieces last night and I could still use them for small projects but not for what they were intended for. The water stains all go at a diagonal across the leather.
  16. So long story short since I live in an apartment I have to leave all my leather stuff and my dad's place. Yesterday after having a to take my wife to the hospital to have a CT scan on a mass she has I find out my dad's basement flooded. I have all the leather (about 6 hides) in a box rolled under a window. Well you guessed it that is right where the water from the neighbors sprinkler box poured in. I am not sure about other states but herr they put a little fertilizer in the landscape water. I haven't seen the hides since they dried out but I am pretty sure they will not be able to use for the projects I had lined up to do.
  17. I have read a couple people do this with the tippman boss. Not sure why they did it this way.
  18. Just called and left a message for you on your answering machine
  19. The reason I went with the grip up was simply when drawing the firearm the muzzle would be index away from the body. If you go with the grip facing down you are more likely to draw the firearm and index the muzzle towards the body as you get on target.
  20. Tandy has a couple of pattern packs with this style holster for a reasonable price. There is also a good tutorial in the holster sub section
  21. There are two ways you can go about this. One: use 1/4 graph paper and lay all the sides out on the paper this way you can test fit and make changes before cutting leather. Two: cut a wood block that is the same size as the call and use that as a buck mold to wet mold an oversized piece of leather. If it was me I would wet mold it as I think it looks a little nicer. Good luck with your project. Seems like a fun one.
  22. I ha e tried the folder trick where you put the gun on the fold and rub around to get your stitch line. Still to tight. I will try the 3/4inch. I usually use 6/7oz leather for my holsters. I have saved the two that have not fit right and will post pictures when I can get back to the shop.
