Some Of My New Stuff
Cyberthrasher replied to Keeleon Ohms's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
I think the best time to oil is after the dye and before your final finish of conditioning. This will also go along with the "Smooth glossy supple look". That look is obtained through rubbing. When you dye things you want to rub it out to get any loose dye pigments off and while doing this you'll add a slight burnish to the leather. Since you'll also be rubbing the oil in, it will really start to shine up after that. Once you're all done, finish it off with a dose of something like Montana Pitch Blend to condition and protect then send it out the door http://shop.treatleather.com/LeatherDressing4oz.aspx If my rambling doesn't make sense, someone will clear it up. -

Chancey lives for lace man!! The original black one has its place, but the color change definitely suits this one a lot better. -

Well Bro, I'm a little late to the game (lot going on at home). But, I think you should go back to a single bullet between each "concho", alternating directions. Without them it really looks like the side was an afterthought that's part of a different piece. The single carved bullet leaves it classy and brings them together with the main art as part of the overall theme. Basically, trust your original instinct and quit over-thinking it!!! The really funny thing is that while you were struggling with this I've been working on the EXACT same thing on a guitar strap -

Really? You just thought of that??? I feel so smart now Nah, My wife does a lot of embroidery, so I have a bunch of those sites handy already. Had she not shown them to me, i wouldn't have known either. Oh yeah, and try airbrush or woodcarving stencils too -

What Kind Of Rawhide Maul Do You Use?
Cyberthrasher replied to Bobby hdflame's topic in Motorcycles and Biker Gear
Yeah, I've had my eyes on some of his stuff. I just can't justify the price right now. It's worth it, but I have a lot of other stuff I need to buy first. -

Man, there was just a whole discussion on this up on one of the top sections a couple weeks ago, but I can't remember what the consensus was. I do remember that 1 lb seemed to be recommended for all around work. I'll see if I can find a link to that post. If I can't find it, you might try posting up there too so more people see it outside of the motorcycle group. -

Ok, that makes sense then. That will add to it anyway since the picture will look more like it keeps going outside the confines of the guitar's shape. Screw Borders!!! -

Something From The Recycling Bin

WooHoo!! I realized last night that I need a new one since I'm just using a small package box that something came in with holes cut in it. I'm out of room in it and need an upgrade, but I'm too lazy to build a box shape. You got lucky with that one being a knife holder already -
