  1. Very interesting machine! Would love to hear more about it. Would be perfect for shoes if it could handle thick thread.
  2. Hello people, thanks for all the help. I am pretty sure it's an Adler 20-2 with some Singer parts. Compared all the pictures. Couldn't find all the the numbers though. But that's oke. The machine sews pretty good. Have to buy matching needles and thread though. The machine is pretty tight too. Very happy with it. But before I give it a fresh paint, I have to solve one issue. The feed dog is to high. I can't find any ajustment to do this. Everything looks 'locked'. See last pic. Anyone has an idea how to do this?
  3. Every sewing machine owner should master this 'basic' adjustment. A lot don't. This thread should be pinned. After watching this video you know what to look for if you have a timing issue. Even when you have a different machine. Btw Uwe, did you polish the hook? The point looks blue. Be carefull with polishing, not to overheat the material. You could change the temper of the steel and make it softer. Good video though. Must take a lot of time making it this nice.
  4. A just go to a machine shop and buy the cheapest pulley they have and let them drill or machine the hole. Shouldn't be that expensive. Or go with a speed reducer ofcourse. But I think that's more expensive.
  5. Just take any pulley you like. Just have to make it fit. Shouldn't be that hard. Mabey you will have to buy/drill/machine a bushing. It doesn't run high rpm's. So it's not a big problem when it's a little off.
  6. So the machine got delivered today. No extra's, only 4 bobins and 4 different needles. One of the needles seems to fit properly. A short one was installed, so I don't think the machine was stitching like the seller claimed in the add. There is only one small nut missing from the first tension disk. It seems to be not metric, so have to think of something. Mabey make a new tension disk shaft. The type plate says 120-1. The shuttle race (??) says simanco. So, I still don't know what brand. Singer 120-1 doesn't excist. Adler 120-1 also doesn't excist. Well there is an Adler 120-1 but thats a way newer model. Do you guys have an idea? Sandy.
  7. Has to be a Durkopp 252 alright. Looks excactly the same. But it seems to be pretty lightweight. So not for me. Thanks for all the info people!
  8. Hi Bob, I noticed the difference in the lever. Didn't know durkopp made similar machines. Thanks. Not realy looking for a zigzag. But if it's double feed I might be interested. Just for fun.
  9. Can't help identify, but that's a nice extra bonus!! Does it work properly?
  10. While searching for old Adlers, I came across this machine. It's for sale in Holland. looks like a Singer, but can't google the type. Anyone has an idea? The hole in the presserfoot has an od shape. Could this be a needle feed?
  11. Do the disks move at all? Are they installed in the whright order? Made that mistake a time or two with my firt machines. I replaced my lost pin using a needle wich I cut the wright length. And polished the ends.
  12. If it works, it works I guess. Sometimes I also use automotive v-belts. Is should not hit the bottom of the v-groove though.
  13. I am 100% sure you could get a price like you mentioned for it. If it was located in Holland I would get the machine today. Sole stitchers are cool machines. Don't have any use for it though. Maybe a knive sheat once a year.
  14. On the 211G166, the handwiel is part of the shaft. It holds the bearing in place. Don't know if thats the case with the 111. So first take a look at that before you make your casting. Sandy.
  15. Don't know that machine, but it sounds to me the presser bar is bend. Reaming the tube would ruïn the machine. You would still have a bend bar. Cousing more problems in the near future.
  16. Tried today the thick cotton thread with the thread releasing finger installed. It didn't raffle anymore! Thanks for the help !!! Fyi. I used cotton thread 18/3 (Between 138 and 207). With a 140 (20) needle.
  17. I have seen animations but this is realy cool. Thanks Uwe.
  18. I installed it today. Didn't change anything. Thanks for your explanaition Gregg. I didn't use thick thread today. In the past I did. And the thick cotton tread I used would raffle sometimes. I still have some thread left. I will give that a try tomorrow. Could be, that was causing the raffling of the thread. Now I am writing this down, I remember the machine making a strange noise using that thread. Has to be the thread squeezing through the bobbin case basket and hook supporting plate!!
  19. Thanks Tom! Uwe, now I remember reading that somewhere. But it isn't installed. I have been sewing with it for a few years now. Even the lady from whom I bought it didn't use it. She didn't know what it was for. I have sewn the max thickness the machine could handle. Never had a problem. What I have read so far, it has to be installed whright? Maybe I wil give it a try. Sandy.
  20. This came with a Lewenstein triple feed sewingmachine. Looks excactly like the consew 206 rb. Another clone I guess. I know where it fits. But what is its function? Sandy.
  21. Don't know what hypottigene will use it for. Bit I just want to rescue it. It's for sale for a long while now. Nobody whant's it??? Would be a shame if it would go to the scrapyard. I made the deal with the seller. He will deliver it comming friday to my home! He says it's stitching fine. Price is pretty good so I took the chance. Maybe I could use it for sewing buffing wheels. I polish aluminium, like car wheels and mopet parts from time to time. Don't know if the clearence is enough for this task, but we will see.
  22. What is the kerosine doing? Besides degreasing. Does it disolve rust? Or stabilize (conserve) the rust??
  23. I am realy realy sorry. I sent you the wrong email adres. I am so used to my old email adress. And can't get used to my new one. I pm'd the correct adress. Thanks for your efford.
