  1. Alot of great input from everyone Thank You. I see two somewhat reoccuring themes that I like 1. Don't do it to the point of annoying 2. Bring them in to your shop like part of the family, Thanks Cyberthrasher I like that The photo series of projects is also a great idea, I may have to try this Again thanks to everyone for your input Dink
  2. I definatley see the benefit of it, however is there such a thing as over doing it, I like to put things out there when it is something cool and out of the ordinary and not flood it daily with with the repetitive same thing different color type items. So is the philosophy of this marketing to keep a continous flow of things and to continually keep your name in front of people, or is a suttle weekly post work better. I am not directing this at any custom type item because they are all different, but just as an example I may see the same item like clothes or jewlery one or more time a day. I guess I am just trying to figure out, Is there proper ettiquette

  12. All my tables and benches are covered with it also, I do alot of cutting on it, My marble is not as big as Bruces but about 2.5" thick and I have a piece under it and it does not effect tooling but helps with the noise. dink

  15. I have been lucky there with chap, however I did have isssue with some metallics having big holes in them. I also use Hide house alot for chap leathers, reasonable but not always the cheapest. However you cannot beat the consistent quality and colors they carry
  16. I know this is a long time past, and I am not ithin two hours, but I do custom clicking your leather or mine and we also custom make clicker dies to your patterns. let me know if we can help. Dink www.prorodeooriginals.com
  17. Depends on how you build your chinks, but there really is no additional beefing up. Roll and stitch raw edgesthinken area on bat wing where buckles attach and your side billet is for extra strength on the leg straps
  18. I been using an Atom clicker for about five years and I run mine on a rotary phase converter similar to this http://www.ebay.com/itm/PL-3T-Pro-Line-3HP-Rotary-Phase-Converter-Custom-TEFC-Generator-/290755365940?pt=BI_Electrical_Equipment_Tools&hash=item43b25ecc34 This has worked very well, but I see they have come up in price since I got mine. I am also asking this as a question more than a statement, but Where clickers run at a steady speed I do not really know the benefit of a VFD, we use them on wells and other equipment, but the the rotary converter on the clicker seems to work much like a soft start. Dink
  19. Do you put a thin leather backer on the back side of the blanket when you sew them on? Dink
  20. I agree about panhandle leather they do have good stuff among some others. 5/6 is what I generally use also for chinks and shotguns, I have been using oil tan hides that helps to resist weather. But to try and answer your question I think with most leather places when you say chap leather, the only thing they think is light weight show chaps, or motorcycle.
