  1. Bullmoosepaddles, Thank you for the nice complement. To answer your question, I do not make my own lace. Trying to find good quality lace has been a tough one for me. A few years ago I used lace from Tandy but something happened to the quality of it and I quit purchasing lace from them because I could not finish a project without the lace breaking as I was stitching. In the past I have used Kangeroo lace, this is very good lace, but it is extremely expensive in my opinion. Springfield sold a calf lace that I found to be very strong but when I tried to order some of it a couple of weeks ago they said the company that made it went out of business. I ended up buying "Realeather craft lace" made by Silver Creek Leather Co. It is a calf lace and seems to be good and strong. I bought this from Springfield Leather but after checking the price I found that I can get the same thing from Weaver Leather at a better price. Hope that answers your question.
  2. Another beautiful watch band.
  3. Very nice watch strap.
  4. Snubby, it makes the tooling really pop out. Thanks Boriqua.
  5. I am not aware of any published list like you have described, but if you could let us know what craftaid it is someone might be able to help you.
  6. Thanks everyone for the great replies, they are much appreciated. Smahon03, I dye my leather with Fiebings Professional Oil dye. Then I whip-stitch the holster together, wet the leather and form it to the gun. Once this is dry I give it a good coat of Fiebings Tan-kote. After that is dry I use Fiebings Antique Finish. I wipe a good coat on and make sure it is in all the tool impressions and then immediately wipe it off with a paper towel and let this dry. Next I coat it again with Tan-kote and when dry I lace it up again and give it a third and final coat of Tan-kote. This gives the antique finish a good sealant and the holster good overall shine. Hope this helps. Any other questions, I'll be glad to answer.
  7. Thanks Chief. I think I am getting better at antiquing them.
  8. Here are the five I finished up today.
  9. That is a great looking buckle. Using that heat shrink is a pretty good idea.

  11. Thanks for the comments Ford and Don.
  12. Looks good. I agree with glockanator the stamp should go on the back. I always put my makers stamp on the back of my holsters.
  13. Looks like a pretty good holster for a first one.
  14. BikingViking, Thanks for the comment. I have already sold those two holsters but I have 4 more that will be finished in a couple of days. If you are interested send me a pm.
  15. You did a nice job on that one. Looks real good to me.
  16. Thank you Missiontom. The stamp I used for these holsters is a Craftool from Tandy X510S.
  17. Thanks Bill. I do all my holsters with the lace, but I am going to be doing some stitched ones now that have a sewing machine.
  18. Thanks Chief and Toney. I appreciate the nice comments.
  19. Here are two holsters I tooled and antiqued.
