Who are you rooting for in the SUPERBOWL?
JustWakinUp replied to Johanna's topic in All About Us and Off Topic
Well since we'll be having a party and eating Chili, bacon & Cream cheese jalapeno stuffers,Hamburgers & hotdogs and plenty of beer, I think I'll pull for myself and pray I don't get sick. Neither team interests me but it's a great excuse to cook up a lot of food and fill the feedbag with plenty of beer not to mention hang out with a lot of good friends. -
Sizing Cuff Bracelets
JustWakinUp replied to JustWakinUp's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
hmmmmz, I tried the math thing with the cuff i was goofing with last night and it would've fell wayyyyyy short of actual length. Material = .11" * Pi =3.14 Wrist = 6.5" 6.5+.345 = 6.84 If I would've cut the leather that short it wouldn't fit a 5.75" wrist ** Try it and let me know, im interested in this math thing but in this case it didn't work out -
Sizing Cuff Bracelets

Ok, I've been working on a few things with cuffs just to wet my whistle making them. I'm interested in a precise way to make a very nicely fitted cuff. I made up one this evening but I think the ID ( Inside Dimension ) is shorter than what I was sizing it for. I decided that I wanted a nice fit for someone with a 6.5" wrist. I cut the leather 7.25" long adding 3/4 of an inch to the diameter for overlap & snap height. ****WRONNNGGG - I think the ID of the Cuff now is only 6" So my question is this, what is the best way to size a cuff for a nice fit? I know that using buckles and such would be somewhat easier because you can adjust to length etc, but when using snaps is there a default percentage of an inch to add? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

One quick question. Is the tape applied to the flesh side? Have you tried applying it to both sides? I know when putting blue tape on the good side it tends to muff it a bit.

I wanted to add another picture, You can't really tell there is depth to the cross but it does sink into the stingray a bit. Hope this will help somewhat -

You can pretty much purchase any screwback concho and turn it into a snap cap with the use of an 3/16" long 8/32 screw. Here is an example of how I use them. This was a skull & crossbones screwback concho. In this photo you can see the screw burried in the snap. Minor modification to the screw was done using a dremmel to take away a little excess metal that was causing the snap to not close properly but it works like a champ now with a little bit of thread lock it's there permanantly.

Linings
JustWakinUp replied to kingleather's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I use products from Joanns , like tashabear said novelty prints on cotton are always suitable. As for a nicer type liner I like to use brocade fabrics. Just my 2cents -
If you're using vegtan and don't want the adhesive to stick to the sides you can "LIGHTLY" apply a "SMALL" amount of vaseline/petroleum jelly and that will keep the adhesive from sticking. Then just wipe it all off the edge after a few minutes of dry time

To line my wallets i use 3M Hi-Strength 90 spray adhesive. The thing is though, if you spray to much and put the fabric on too quick the glue will penetrate the fabric. It's a fun balancing act. I'm not familiar with the tpye of fabric you are using though so this may not be your best bet.
