  2. Yeah super cool, something to rest the head on while your asleep at the sewing machine eh? I've nodded off in front of my machine more than once and wish I had some padding for the thump that followed the eyelids closing.

  4. Very cool Kevin. I'm with Art though, I've looked high and low for that very linining because I'd like to use it as a drop for photographing my wallets. Joanns doesn't have it, if your willing could you let us know.
  5. Thanks alot Luke, I use an artisan and I believe i use #69 or whatever is closest to my machine at the time. Thank you Kevin, it's been quite the learning expericene and I've definitely jacked up a few wallets before this one. 6. Being a member of this forum has enlightened me in so many ways i'm unable to measure it. So first of thanks to all those that make it happen. Also I've noticed alot of threads about Marketing, Selling, Pricing etc. My current way of letting people know what I have for sale is to post a Picture on my myspace page ( http://myspace.com/anarchyleather) and to let folks know it's for sale. I also try to put up info on a couple forums I belong too about a new auction I've started on eBay. The thought is this, would it be useful to have a "Current eBay Auctions by LW Artisans" forum on LW? That way when the public comes to visit us not only do they have the opportunity to see all the talent here at LW but they could also goto to this eBay auctions forum and see what people have for sale via eBay. I know that selling stuff there you always take a price hit but long term it may be useful to get your product into other peoples hands that might not ever of known who you are and what you make. Anyways, I'm rambling and it's just a thought.
  7. WoW, that's amazing. He's so tiny. Is that your photography Ian?
  8. Hey everyone, Here's a new wallet named Murphys Luck Black shark body with sour apple green stingray inlay accented with tribal art along the border with contrasting stitching, and a gold brocade interior w/ 6 credit card slots & Zipper pocket pulling the design together. This wallet is a NEW SIZE for me & measures approximately 3.5" x 5.75". Murphy's Luck Nobody is as lucky as they look. Everybody takes luck for granted. And if anyone needs a little luck, One must have a four leaf clover close at hand.
  9. Sounds very cool. Great idea to help leatherworker.net as well with 50% of the proceeds.
  10. Kevin currently has a few ebay auctions going on. If you wanted to contact him I'm sure you could do so via those auctions Here's one of them http://cgi.ebay.com/Elephant-skin-credit-c...1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. lookin good so far. I like the lacing. We killed a copper head in the yard the other day, my first thought was to tan that puppies skin but then the thought of all that nastiness crept into my brain and we burried it. ( had to kill the snake, he was hanging around the kids play area )
  12. Very cool, the colors are wicked. Nice looking piece
  13. I've ran across his stuff in the past, and from what I recall they are in TN. It would be great to get some tips from him eh?
  14. Thank god for the carolinas, suppose to be around 70 or so today.
  15. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4428 It's the first one you see on that page.
  16. hey guys, I just received a few pics of Rogers Stevens, the lead guitar player for Blind Melon, jamming with Anarchy Leather guitar strap. Thought I'd share the news. It's exciting to see your pieces being used as they were designed and intended especially by national acts.
  17. I use a dremmel on some of the lighter leathers when making straps for wallets etc. The leather on this one is chrome tan black pretty thin, maybe 1`.5oz and in the center is regular red suede. I feel that the edges come out rather nice with a dremmel. Here a few pics of the edges. **side note, i do not use felt, i use hardwood.
  18. I had made one for my daughter to doodle in and posted it on my myspace page (myspace.com/anarchyleather) and low and behold the reception was wonderful. I had alot of folks asking how much, how long, when can I get mine? Anyway, here's the latest one **Ian if you see this, you can see I'm still having a few problems with photography as well, the stitching is actually red thread but looks purple. Go figure.
  19. Hey Ian, I don't recommend auto mode at all nor the flash. If your lighting is too dim just slow your shutter speed down and maybe increase aperature to say a 4 or 5. You will definitely need to make you a lightbox. It's not a tracing box, it's literally a cube made of whatever material you like lined with WHITE construction paper or whatever lining you'd like to use. Some people have made their light boxes with shower curtains and pvc pipe. I made mine with wood and white construction paper. I cut holes in the side and top. I place clamp lights shining in from front, top and sides. Oh yeah cover the holes with some white tissue paper to diffuse the light. I'll try to brief this as best I can without knowing how much you know of stuff so don't take it personal if I tell you something you allready know. Aperature - Size of hole the light can pass through to the film. Lower settings 1,2 & 3 will allow alot of light to pass through and will decrease depth of field. (blurry background etct) The higher the setting 8,9 & 11 will allow less light to pass through and will increase depth of field ( everything in focus from foreground to background). Shutter speed - the speed at which the aperature hole opens and closes. The slower the speed the more light ( use with higher aperature setting. The faster the speed the less light ( use with lower aperature settings ) You will want to play with these until you get an even balanced photo not under exposed or over exposed. As you are setting your shutter speed and aperature settings look in the lower right of your viewer and you will see if you are under exposed or over exposed and make adjustments accordingly. If none of this makes sense just let me know what parts are confusing.
  20. It's definitely a stamp. I used a similar type of stamp on a guitar strap I did. I don't know where to get that exact stamp though. I think it's called some sort of wandering stamp or something of that nature. You just stamp it in one direction, flip it verticaly then stamp again. It's fairly quik and painless too
  21. If you have any questions about the camera i'm ooober familiar with it, just let me know. I'll be glad to help out. You'll be taking professional looking shots in no time
  22. Ian, I have a coolpix 8meg camera that I shoot my stuff with. I built a light box for my stuff to go in. The thing I found the most useful was the white light balancing and doing the manual setting for it. It will allow you to get more natural colors. Also if you're shootin in low light you can bump your ISO but keep in mind it will get somewhat grainy. If shooting tight shots, increase your aperature to 8 or so decrease shutter speed, set white light balancing and always use some form of tripod. Good luck, photography is a fun thing.
  23. Johanna, Thanks a bundle, i'll be implementing that script soon.
