  1. Thanks, The Belt is made out of 13oz saddle skirting and then linned with a 1oz linning leather. All in all its just right around 1/4" thick. And I got the buckle from Tandy. They offer a double touge roller buckle in 2" and 2-1/2" if you want a 3" or 4" Weaver has them.
  2. One of my other hobbies is bike riding. So I decided to do a 8 plait on my set of handle bars for my singlespeed bike. Thanks for looking
  3. Here is a Weight Lifting Belt I finished up for my brother. Thanks for taking a look.

:D soap up your punch, make sure it's sharp... hold your mouth right and smack it hard. :)

When I get sick and tired of punching holes, I sharpen up the edge of an appropriate sized piece of steel tubing on a sander, put the tubing in my battery drill, and continue to punch using the trigger.

  6. I just finished tooling a weight belt for my brother. He wants to leave it the natural veg tanned leather color. I was wondering if there is anything I should put on it to help with the sweat soaking into the leather. I know it will change the color after use no matter what. But is there a finish i should put on it to help block the sweat. or just have him oil it every so often. The leather is a piece of 13oz saddle skirting and will have a thin piece of linning leather stitched on the inside. Thanks for taking the time to read. Jesse
  7. Ok thank you. Was not sure if there was a better leather for handles that will be used a lot.
  8. I don't want to hold on to rawhide for hours on end. I would like something a little easier on the hands. This is going on a road bike. But thank you for the quick response. I will see if the guy has any kangaroo hide. I doubt he does but he might.
  9. So I'm hoping someone will answer quickly. I saw a cool ideas to braid a set of pedal bike handle bars and want to give it a try. But all I have is veg tanned leather. I have braided a little bit and practiced with the veg tan but I was wondering what is a good leather for braiding handles. But I only have a little bit of time today to go get leather or I have to wait till Tuesday. I'm hoping someone will respnd fast so I can get started today. Thank you.
  10. There is still indentations in the steel but it would not file anything if that's what your asking.

  12. Just wanted to show off my knife sheath that I made for the knife I made. For a little back story on the knife. It started life as a ferriers file I layed out the design I wanted and cut it out. cleaned it up and ground down the file aspect of it. Worked the cutting edge down with a file not all the way to were it was sharp but sharp enough that after the heat treatment process was done it didnt take a lot of effort to get a sharp edge. After it was heat treated found a nice piece of wood and made the handle for it. and found a Brass rod cut three piece to put in the handle as well. worked the handle down to where i wanted it to be. then put a sharp cutting edge on it. Since I finished the knife I needed a sheath to carry it in. So grabbed some leather and got to work on that. Nothing to special about the sheath. The tooling is off a bit casue I did some last min. changes. I was going to stitch it but then decided to do a triple loop lace on it instead so some things are off. But it is for me so I was not going to start over. sorry for the long story. Thanks for looking. Hope you like it

  21. So I want to try my hand at braiding some key fobs. I have a lace cutter. And was wondering what is the best leather to make some lace out of. I was thinking about just a four strand braid with some decorative knots. If anyone can point me in the right directions I would appreciate it.
  22. Thanks guys. If your taking about the red liner it is a bandana from Walmart
