  1. You can add me to the list at http://www.lasered-stamps.com
  2. This topic will certainly lead to some tandy bashing from people that don't even have or tried one, but for my part - I own three of the punches. So far, I'm quite happy. Even just 'factory' sharp they have cut cleanly and effortlessly. Of course I'm using a 3 lb maul, but basically I've just let gravity do it's job and haven't had to use much pressure to cut. I haven't tried sharpening one yet, but I don't see a problem there. On sale, they are a great alternative to their regular punches which don't cut very well at all. Cheers!
  3. Total Bummer. Mark at Leathersmith Supply is a great guy. I wish him luck in his other business. All of the KS suppliers seem to be closing. There was American Leather in Leavenworth, and they closed January. There are a number of boot and shoe places that deal with the evil empire (Tandy) and get you thier items, but I don't know any other independant dealers. In Manhattan, try Gary at Manhattan Boot and Shoe Repair. If you just need a small piece of leather, I'm sure he'll cut some off for you. Cheers!
  4. I think the problem will be that it will harden (or has a hardener in it). The first time you bend it, I think the guy across the street will hear the crack. You really want to use a flexible acrylic. The fabric paints are probably a better choice.

    Semi Stamp

Well I just posted this one on ebay this morning. It is 1.25" long and not quite an inch high. Cheers!
  6. Is this what you need.? This is 2.5" square.
  7. Hello. Here is a belt I finished for a customer. It is about 7 foot long as seen on the 8 ft bench. BIG! (sorry not a great picture, just showing scale). The end is not done because they are going to size it themselves. The sexy lady details were laser engraved in, then added some highlighter to it. Just thought I'd show it.
  8. It's also going to be item specific. If you buy 18 craftstamps, you've saved $36 on what otherwise is $180 at retail. Anything that saves money these days is definately worth a look.
  9. thanks Cheryl, While I've never had a doberman my friend of 30 years had one and it was loyal to the core and are very trainable. And of course, she just loved playing.
  10. Hello. It's been a while since I put up a stamp. Here is one of a doberman. It is made from delrin and laser engraved. Dogs seem to be a popular item. I've done a few other dogs and am working on some more. -Nick
  11. It is probably made with a recipricating carver as used in woodworking. I made one 10 years ago and used it in classes as as demo. The one I saw was made for a one armed leather worker. Unfortunately, 10 years of killing brain cells I don't remember the source article. Much like the teflon easy beveler, it is only useful in long straight lines.
  12. I have a 45 watt Co2 laser from Universal Laser systems (ULS). First a finish is applied to protect it from smoke damage, lasered and then hilighter is applied.
  13. Not my sewing on this one. This is a commercialy made wallet. I am just using it to engrave on. That's why I didn't call it real leatherwork, just an engraving example. Thanks for looking.
  14. Hello. I've had mine for 11 years. Had a lot of fun with it. Etsy is one of my favorite places. I've sold a few things on there. Might give these a try. Thanks again for the kind words.
  15. Ok, this may not be real leatherworking, but here is a roper wallet I just engraved. Hope ya like it.
  16. Actually, Pinky is my wallpaper on my iPhone, so Acme it is. Narf!
  17. "THE" evil empire.
  18. Hello, well I no longer work for the evil empire so I'm now free to advertise that I can make delrin stamps. I've been doing it for a while on eBay under vendor nexus123 http://stores.ebay.com/Studio-N?_rdc=1 and have another website under http://www.lasered-stamps.com. I've done a few stamps for people on here so I hope they'll chime in if they were happy with them. I'll have more time on my hands for a while so I can hopefully turn them around quickly for you. Just let me know how I can help. thanks! -Nick
  19. I use Bontex bag stiffener material.
  20. It is gool ol' Gum Trag on the back. I haven't molded it but it embossed well on a belt roller.
  21. 10 oz is pretty thick. I used 45 watts at 3.1% speed to cut that. It may take more than one pass and raising the table a bit on the second pass. Obviously more power is better, and what would help a LOT on smoke damage is an air assist. Just engraving doesn't require more than about 20 watts of power. Cheers!
  22. Looks good. I for one am interested. Post it in the marketplace section and give us the order/payment details. thanks for sharing.
  23. Stamps are sold. Thank you to everyone who replied. -nick
  24. Thanks for looking. I aquired a large set of stamps recently which are a mix of Craftool USA and regular Craftool stamps. I have sorted thru them and got the ones I didn't have so I'm passing these along for others to do the same. Here are 105 stamps up for sale for $200 plus $5 shipping. The tools are listed and the Y after it denotes that this is a Craftool USA stamp. I'm not looking to part these out so First come, first invoiced via paypal.
