I'm not a big fan of stacked leather, and I am an avid woodturner - so I have taken the leather off my ASB knives and added a nice maple burl. I think the color looks nice against the antique finish of the knife.

Well I for one am going to give up gasoline long before I give up coffee cheers!

I just ordered some more delrin plastic for my stamp making. The last batch of 12 foot rods were $120 each six months ago. New cost is going to be $140. That's a 16% increase in six month. I'm sure it's due to oil increases since all plastics contain some petro products. It won't be long before it hits the leatherwork business. I know that saddle skirting is going up everywhere. what other leatherworking things do you folks see that have gone up lately compared to the last 3-6 months?

I remember a great story I read in a craft journal somewhere, where the author basically said when something like this happened she would basically mail them a nice letter letting them know she had put a curse on them and their house. The rest of the story was basically about how many people actually made good on their debts as a result. She would then send them a followup letter lifting the curse. what the heck, it's worth a try. Easy solution is educate him that walmart and many other venues sell prepaid Visa and Mastercards or the type that he can add money to. After that he can use his own 'credit card' to place orders.

Just FYI, but UPS did raise their rates on Jan2. Most packages look like they are averaging $12 to start and pennies per pound after that. I'm using a lot more USPS flat rate boxes these days.

I totally agree. I have a one-ton press from harbor freight. A $49 investment. I stuck a 1" pipe (duct taped in of course) over the straight handle and I really lay on it. I get great impressions with it. the worse that is going to happen is I'll bend the handle. In that case I'll take it off, put it on the bench press and bend it the other direction and then slip the pipe back on it and keep on pressing. Cheers!

Hello. I need your help. Our company has just issued a new policy where they are dictating to their employees where and what they can posts to blogs, social networking sites, and forums. So basically, what I need to do is delete all my postings and attachments, as all my stamps are in conflict with their business. I kinda need to continue with the job until I can find a new one, but in the meantime I have 30 days to delete my content so that anything I say,do, or have done isn't traced back to them. Yes, I know it's stupid, but I need the job right now. So, can you help me? If what it will take is to delete my account, I can live with that as I will just come back in under another. Hello. Sure I could do a LW stamp. Artwork is of course the issue. I'm not an artist myself. I can generally adapt existing drawings, but don't draw myself. Sounds like maybe a contest is order first to see who can come up with a logo. A long time ago, TLF did a sales flyer with a cow sewing a human. That would have been my vote! A website is in the works. So much to do, so little time. Cheers!
