  7. NO. But I figured I would just continue the carving until I figure out exactly where it is going.
  8. I guess this Telecaster I am working on fits in this months challenge and I will be done in a couple weeks before the end of the month:) FRONT Spanish Mission in the Back ground with cactus and mountains, Robber in the front holding up the stage coach, his regulators running from behind on horse back...that is the front, The Back side, Fish Eye Effect drawing with dead cowboy in the background and coach driver, 2 robbers side by side one behind the other, Mission and Mountains in the Background, along with the horse train. Tools, 3/8 Hollow Ground Swivel Knife Swivel Bevler 1/8 Bevel Stamp Backgrounder M885 Spoon and Camouflage/Foliage Stamp Tool F986...SO FAR.
  9. OK I got started on the back... Contemplating on redoing the front now...I think I have a better idea!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Oh we know all about that, but sitting in traffic in Tampa is a real pain...and even with an over sized radiator and new water jackets, it still over heats...which blows gaskets and warps heads...and well you should know you can't rebuild the top end of a motor without rebuilding the bottom...so..OVERHAUL! Plus cast-iron takes a beating, but pits and needs special attention all the time, especially in Coastal towns like well most of Florida with the salt and humidity, plus in the 50's they didn't have those big traffic jams they do now, the roads where more rural and free flowing people rarely sat in a jam for 2+ hours driving from Brandon-St. Pete like it is now every day. After rush hours are over it takes 30 mins. You should pull your valves every 3-5,000 miles and polish those as well, but 99.99999% of people NEVER DO THAT EVEN 1 TIME ON A CAR THESE DAYS! Just drive it till it blows and go get something else...heck most people don't even check the oil! I still check my oil and fluids DAILY even with my 95 VOLVO and that WILL RUN FOREVER...as long as there is oil...LOL I know I am not telling any real gear heads anything..and there is a LOT of Flatheads on the road...sometimes you just have BAD LUCK!
  11. Ya I got 41-7mm holes 3- 10mm holes and 4- 13mm holes I think:) I tried to drill out the first row in between the notches but they just got gnarled, so I skipped that...I was thinking I would be able to get at least 5x more on each row...That would have been 65 more holes! So it would have been 107 holes altogether...but oh well:) LOL I could have just gone and spent 10 bucks in Birch from the lumber yard here since next to pine is the biggest cash crop here, and you can get solid planks of Birch cheap, but I found something for free and just made it work...I was out of space and keeping a bunch of stuff in plastic tool boxes, and always digging (and worrying about messing up my old stamps), so it just seemed to be the right answer at the right time and only took me maybe an hour at home to do it. I see them in the trash and at the local recycling shop all the time for about 2 bucks...I think I'll pick up another one, or just make one that is a full block...I don't know yet. But I thought yall might get a kick out of it! BTW if you do do it...after I did it I realized I should have turned it over and drilled out the back side and just put the wood dowels that are there for legs on the other side....but that is what I get for being to gung ho and not thinking about it until it was over...hahaha... SO DRILL OUT THE BACK SIDE! I COULD HAVE gotten all 107 holes...maybe a few more:) DARN IT! LESSON LEARNED:::THE HARD WAY AGAIN!
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artisan I think that pretty much says it all about being an ARTISAN. It was a VERY old term used in the Middle ages...now the terms are just replaced by what you are trained to do... Carpenter,Saddler,Dyer,Craftsman,Blacksmith... again very old jobs ( but TRADES THAT CONTINUE) Myself, I always get a funny cringe any time anyone says Leatherworks...it just sounds silly... I like to consider my self a Leather Artist. Just like a Painter, Leather is my canvas. And I draw original art work, and then carve and color it on leather...so Leather Artist Works For me... But I have heard people here in Europe call me an Artisan...just seems a little old fashioned, and is really to broad of a spectrum, though I guess I do fit into more than 3-4 or those categories, so MAYBE THEY ARE RIGHT???? These are people who know next to nothing about what it is I do, only that I am in several different trades. Carpentry,Masonry,Metal Worker,Leather Artist, Telephone Lineman, Musician whatever puts food on the table... So I guess it just depends on YOU. There is no is:) AS PAUL PUT IT BEST.
  13. I use Hokey Stick Tape...nice grip and it doesn't leave a sticky residue.
  14. Found a Birch Kitchen Knife Holder in the Garbage...and I said to myself...YA! There is an idea for a new stamp holder. It works great because it has legs on the back and makes it at an angle so I just straight drilled holes for the assortment of tools. And there is room for my Foam Knives:) ROLFL! Tandy 97 Hole Tool Holder 54€ Old Birch from The TRASH....PRICELESS:) HAHAHAHAHA
  15. If they are going to be laced, 3-5 hrs is just for that depending on how much lace there is...but I am very fast and I can Triple loop lace about 7" per half hour.depends on how long the lace is that you have to pull through on each stroke... I would guess 10-15 hours @30 per hour plus Materials. If it was me: I would be thinking about 450 dollars/euros/Australian kangaroo skins or whatever:) LOLOL. JUST KIDDING:) But ya about 450...
