I love that! I have a double headed axe from Starfire, which I got at a Ren.Faire. I've been looking over designs for a sheath for it. I'm assuming the one you posted, the sheath slips off down the haft? How does the axe stay in?

Don't be embarrassed to show your work, everyone starts somewhere! Like you, I'd not done leatherwork in years, then picked it up again about 10 years ago. It's rather "addictive"!

I figured that stake set up was for a vampire hunter, but didn't realize it went on the same customer. It looks good all together, and I like the o ring in the front. -
I usually don't buy something I could make myself, but I did break down and buy one of their pouches. They do a really nice job on formed items - which is something I haven't done yet. I was in the booth next to theirs at the NJRK, and watched them fitting women for bodices. Have you seen that done? They have you wear an old t-shirt, then they duct tape you all over the top for a "mold", then cut it off. Very ingenious!

The customer needed the job more quickly than I could do (about a month's time), so he is going to look for something else.

Si necesita ayuda, puede escribirme Thank you for thinking I am professional! I learned how to work in leather one summer in 1983. Now, I have a small room in my house where I work. It's almost 20 years since I learned Spanish - in my high school and college. I need to practice more, because now I don't speak it as much as when I was working with Latinos at a college in NJ. If you need help, you can write me -
Small world! I also know Larry and Leenie from Lusty Leather - vendors there. I actually ran into them at a hotel in CT on my way up to ME - now THAT'S a small world happening! I mean, how many hotels are there, and to see them on the rare event of my vacationing and their coming back to NY from a show themselves!

I too would suggest trying inverted, especially on the tiger. Would you care to share that particular pattern with me? I love big cats: wildrosecreations@att.net is my email address.

I am especially impressed with that first one, the double back sheath. I would not have thought of doing it that way! -

Hola y bienvenido! Que obra fantastica! Me gusta especialmente la primera foto. Hi and welcome. What fantastic work! I especially like the first picture. -
I was hoping to sell at CTRF this year, but sadly it didn't work out. I know Brian, the vendor coordinator.

Hi from another knotwork fan! I bought the Clanbadge Celtic Knot Font software too...I just love it! It's so much more interesting to make my own knots, although the Dover Publishing books are still good sources. I like all your collars. I've made some for my folks' Airedales, and a sure fire way to wreck one is for the dog it's on to 'get skunked'!

I took these during our recent trip to Maine. I've tried to make them as detailed as possible.

Welcome to a fellow New Jerseyan !!! Although I'm now in PA... I grew up on a horse farm in Hunterdon County, but my mom's family is all from Stanhope, NJ.

While I am an avid horse lover - and cat and dog lover too - I recognize that there could be a need to humanely euthanize a horse, and why waste its meat? I mean we kill cows every day, and use the leather AND meat. Of course I might have more of a problem RAISING horses for food...and I certainly have a problem with that where dogs and cats are concerned. But the one writer raises a good point: in certain cultures, these animals are not considered pets.

Ohio Travel Bag is pretty good with all kinds of hardware - don't have their contact info handy but sure they're on the 'web.

I also recommend HideCrafters. George Hurst puts out a wonderful series for beginners. We have them as I'm a 4H volunteer - he sent them to our club FREE! He is an amazing person!

No worries, I actually get called Molly quite a bit...I use any scraps I have around, but most often between 4 and 6 oz. weights. If I use lighter than 4, I have trouble with tooling right through the leather, and since most of my stuff is Celtic, it's alot of tooling. If I use a weight that's too heavy, it looks too thick sitting on the box top.
-
Molly was my grandmom, I'm Holly but I think your box top looks great!

I left Jeff at Grey Ghost a message...hoping he calls back. He helped me out with white lace previously, so am hoping to get this done through him too.

I found out today via Tandy Baltimore that they are no longer making custom stamps. I have a customer interested in 1500 bookmarkers with the following on them: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart Proverbs 3:5-6 Isaiah 41:10, 13 BYU 1st Stake 2006/2007 50th Anniversary Where can I get a custom stamp made that will shorten my stamping needs on this project? At a low cost, as the customer is being quite tight!!!

I love their work! I was privileged to bring some of their pieces to the show, and happy to send back the ribbons! Pictures don't do it justice - you really need to see it in person.
