    Anniversary gift

    Had a customer request this as his anniversary gift to his wife. Funny thing was he wrote me on Thursday, and the anniv. was Sunday! (and he's in Colorado, and I'm in Pennsylvania...) So I think he knew he was gonna be a little late giving her the present ps yeah I know the pic is crooked...but the item is not really - blame it on the photographer: ME!

    I'm with Billsotx, I love Lexol. I got a bottle of Lexol NF free as a raffle prize, and I used it up in no time flat. I also found it useful for putting on the leather before I dyed it! Somehow, it made the dye application better and less streaky. Mostly it was great for cleaning up pieces that had been to several fairs and gotten dusty...no customer's gonna buy something that's covered in dust, for sure.

    I will say that as far as spiders go, it's very impressive looking; but yes I'm definitely glad it was outdoors...and it's still alive because of that fact!

    Andrews_rig_01.doc I'm making cowboy cuffs for someone who sent me these pics of his current "rig". I was thinking of using Tandy's Saddle Tan Antique but now am not so sure...I know an exact match is impossible, but would like to get close... Andrews_rig_01.doc

    Looks good so far. Personally I'd probably use a different font on the lettering. It looks more techie and less craftsy...does that make any sense?

    Well, I'm a fool, 'cuz I have the same problem sometimes (not every time, but some) What I do is use Peter Main's modelling tool to smooth out the marking.

    More details: Colt SAA (Single Action ArmY) 5 ½" Barrel Loops in 45LC (45 Long Colt) This is Greek to me but identifies the gun my bro-in-law is getting for SASS. Recommendations on a holster pattern for it? He was admiring the 49er pattern pack.

    I'm thinking you're not really close to any leather supply stores, either, huh? Harrisburg is the closest for me, having just moved back here from DE (where I shopped at the Baltimore, MD, area store). I volunteer with 4H up in Bath, PA, but that's not even remotely close to you. Are you planning to go to the IFOLG show folks have been mentioning? It's near Pittsburgh, PA, and is really worth the trip.

    My brother in law called me today and is excited about getting into SASS in his area (NH). He knows I'm a leatherworker and asked if I'd make him a belt and holster. Call me clueless and you'd be right, because gun holster making is something I've never even considered doing. But, maybe it's a good way to start. So I'm taking all the info/suggestions/help you can give me!

    Yes, not just to grip, but to stay in. I find it's because roo lace is stretchier, and pulls out much easier.

    Our neighbors have these lining the driveway between us and them - most are the pinkish/purple shade, this is one of the few white ones.
