Was out in my front garage (which is more of a "all things" room) and discovered under a pile of clothes a half empty milk jug who knows how long it sat there (or who put it there? ? ? ) but there is a rotten smell and a big patch of "BLECK" on the carpet (carpet needs to go anyway - thank diety there is nothing HEAVY sitting on it - like a refrigerator) worst part my Barony Flaming Gryphon t-shirt was soaking up a lot of it - POOP - not even gonna try saving it also a couple of towels went in the trash SIGH - just needed to vent a bit

just make sure you are wearing rubber gloves for the whole process. I have black walnut trees and just picking up the fallen nuts can turn your hands brown. I've also used these walnuts for dyeing fabric - we put the nuts in a bucket and let then steep for a good long time (outside under the porch) then hulled them and THEN cooked then down. Boy do they stink (and they were growing worms too -- shudder) but it did make some lovely chocolate brown fabric.

Handy Source Of Heavy Cardboard For Patterns.

snicker -- love it and with the encyclopedia's coming out on disk it is just sooo hard to get enough of them to hold anything down..... and I don't think an e-reader would do much good either. sometimes you need a good old-fashioned BOOK -

don't forget cereal boxes.... oh and that old encyclopedia set -- the one you never open anymore cause you got "the net" work great for holding flat things flat to dry -
just had anouther idea--- not knowing how much they cost in the first place but they look like they would be good to use for layouts for role playing figures.... any game stores in your local area? you might be able to sell a few hides that way. especially the green ones.
-
ouch -- one thing do you do any kind of leather shows? if you do - take the leather with you to sell "as is" (not made up into anything) although there are a lot of good ideas here how about covers for binders or journals? it does seem like camo anything is up for sale right now or the other way out can you send it back? without loosing too much money? Or heck -- does anybody HERE want camo leather? You may be able to reduce the amount you have by selling some of it off here.....

if you use peg board could you put the pattern and the gun in a plastic bag and then hang that on the peg board? would keep the gun and the pattern together

wll as far as the "trust" thing just tell him that "money is tight and I need it up front to order stuff from now on" and really don't you think that he sort of blew the "trust" thing this time? you ordered 20 pieces of leather FOR him and he took THREE as a "favor to you"? for something that you have no idea of what to use it for and by your own admission is "expensive"
-
from now on YOU do get the cash up front - no arguments - just plain refuse to order it without cash in hand when he gives you the cash THEN you order the stuff I mean he has to pay for it anyway if he wants it - right? it would save you from being "stuck" with leather you have no real need for

How large are your other custom things (and what kind of price range are you charging?) if you are selling key fobs for a few dollars a paper bag would be find in my opinion if you are selling a wallet or some other higher ticket item you may want to look into small boxes for presentation. (You can always ask - do you want a box with that? some people will if they are giving it for a gift) a belt can be rolled and put in a box I wouldn't use cotton padding in the box - maybe tissue paper? and if you are lucky right now you could probably still find markdowns in the Former Christmas Aisles Of course take this advise from the person who doesn't SELL leather products (although I do merchant other things) But I do know that the right presentation can let you add dollars to your item (wierd - I know) whatever you do use make it look like you CARE about your items - If you use paper bags --- still wrap the item up in a piece of tissue paper (not colored tissue - the ink runs) maybe a sticker of some sort to hold the tissue shut. (thats what the big stores do for ladies clothes - some people look for personal touches like that) and you could print stickers out with a business address or name and web or e-mail address on it good luck

See there is always a "second use" for everything you just have to think of it first feel better soon -
did you go to the "naughty bits" section? fun stuff >eyebrow wiggle<

looks like it would be hard to control and really his work doesn't have a "craftsman" finish (looks sort of "wal-mart quality" to me) you know get it done and get it done fast - costomers will never notice kind of thing. If I am Paying BIG bucks for something -- I want it to look really GOOD not slapdash

steampunk stuff?

I've always wondered just how "sturdy" some of that low melt pewter is. I see it a lot at SCA events for sale and it just seems "fragile?" to me. Like it would bend and break easy. Of couse I am pretty hard on my belts....

you said dog collars what about the leashes? you would get more than one out of a leash or chain mail isn't that hard to make ..... we all need another hobby. right?
