  1. Great work Josh. Clean and neat. We may have touched on this before but seeing those picture have made up my mind to get a belt slot punch. Josh, can you recommend a vendor?
  2. Dwight, the rig will be used in SASS competition. We carry a couple three rounds on our gun belt or shotgun belt. Only needed when we jack one out of the rifle or a dud happens. Once in a blue moon some stage writer will require a single round reload to engage a target.
  3. Not for me. I don't like to wear ranger belts. The holsters will be dark brown on the outer and lined with NF treated natural color. I hate to hand sew. The inside "keeper is sewn between the layers of the main belt and riveted. I do not like to see ranger belts that the ends sag because of a sloppy keeper. "....the band on the "tongue" end ot the inner part just puzzles me since you're not using it as a keeper ." Nope, it is a wide keeper.
  4. I just called Zack White to get some leather lined up before the drive. They ain't got what I want and won't have it for a couple of weeks. The person said that other places had the same problem. Say what?!! No leather?
  5. Dwight, some holster makers in the Fast Draw realm actually make holsters out of fiberglass. No leather lining. A bunch of them make steel lined fast draw (real fast draw rigs)rigs that has zero tension on the gun. The handgun just lays there uninhibited until you go to work. "The holster also has Mernickle’s SAFELEG bullet deflector to protect the shooter’s leg in the event of a premature discharge. As stated earlier, the holster is fully steel lined, and provides a rigid pocket for the gun that doesn’t hinder the draw." http://www.gunblast.com/Mernickle-FastDraw.htm I had the wife pick up a piece of sheet metal in 18 gauge. Ain't no way I will attempt to shape that inside of leather. I bought a roll of aluminum and two sheets fits between 22-24 gauge. Good enough.
  6. I think you would benefit with this. You can get them cheaper than this. http://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/sanders/4-inch-x-36-inch-belt-6-inch-disc-sander-97181.html
  7. It could be the roller cutter. Sorry, but cheap ones will roll if you loosen the blade. Get a better one that the blade will not wobble. If it is a cut that I cannot use the strap cutter, I will use a 36" aluminum ruler. If careful, you cankeep a straight line bearing against the ruler and not sheer any ruler. I seem to do a very good cut if I use a #2 pencil and scribe the straight line. Patience, patience,.............
  8. I took an old grinder, removed all the "stuff" and then threaded on two keyless chucks.
  9. I am not envious. No. But dang. that is good stuff!!!

  11. I believe I checked with Duncan's a few months ago. The customer shipped one of the Bearcat's to me and, after I finished, I sent it to a gunsmith. The SP101's cylinder width is 1 3/8"s. I sent Duncan's a message and hope they respond.
  12. I have spent a lot of time looking for a Ruger Bearcat "blue gun". Seems as though there ain't any. In a couple of spots they list the Bearcat/SP101 together showing the SP. I have a request for a double gun rig for the Bearcat. Other than have the customer ship a gun, I don't know of an answer. I found that the SP's cylinder width is 1 3/8". Does anyone know the dimensions of the Bearcat?
  13. As a constant buyer of Zack White products, I would doubt that they would do this. Zack White is a major distributor/wholesaler and allows walk ins. I have purchased a number of bottles of dye, both the Pro and the regular and have never had a problem. Their shelves are loaded with Fiebling dye and other Fiebling products. They are located about 35-40 minutes away and I love to browse the store when I go.
  14. Don't have a problem with that. Got one close by and will check on it Monday. What is the gauge?
  15. I have done a search or two and discovered a number of posts. However, they only refer to bands and thumb break strips. The posts referred to a few gauges and types of metals. I want to get some metal to cut into pieces that will reinforce most of the body of a holster. It seems from my research, most settle on 20 gauge SS. I have used the internet and looked at Lowes, Home Depot, and other places. Where do you folks get your metal besides the pallet banding or strips for thumb breaks?
  16. Thanks Camano. Cowboys love that stuff. This stuff? http://www.sears.com/search=3m%20191%20scotch%20colored%20plastic%20tape?catalogId=12605&storeId=10153&levels=Tools_Home+Hardware+%26+Vents&autoRedirect=true&viewItems=50&redirectType=CAT_REC_PRED&prop17=3m%20191%20scotch%20colored%20plastic%20tape
  17. I have found that the cutting surface is important. I cut most all my leather on poly board with a utility knife. Much "slicker" than the self healing pads (which I have). I don't have the jerky movements since very little of the point buries in the board. 'Course sharp is the word. I have a Tandy head knife that was given to me. I cannot get it sharp. Guess I need to spend the bucks to get some good steel.
  18. Are the stamps available and what are they called, please.
  19. Problem solved:). The biggest problem for me is them measuring their belt. Si I send them this.
