Awesome knife.. what sort of bearing did you use?
  5. Ok, ive looked through here quite a bit, and done alot of google searching, but honestly, i just don't know what to search for, i think these are called parallel spring snaps. Anyways I am looking for a capless version, where i can see the stud come through, like in this pictures below. Any help to point me in the right direction would be awesome!
  6. Thanks for the kind words! msdeluca, I used a super sheen leather finish and coated it a couple times on just the skull, then did all my other dye's and then when i sealed the whole project, it pulled some of the dye down onto the skull. Before the final coat of finishes, the skull was pretty much veg tan colored.
  7. Well this is my 2nd project overall, and my first project from scratch(no pre punched/cut tandy kits) I know I flubbed up on a couple things, but overall happy with it. My first wallet was a tandy kit, and took me, 10 hours start to finish, this one only took 5. The outer piece of leather is pretty thick, just because it was all I had available at the time, and no way to really shave it down.
  8. Well, I have been lurking on the forums for almost 2 years now, got a deluxe starter kit from tandy on sell in dec of 2012, had fun tooling some stuff on a couple pieces of scrap for a few weeks even took a class at tandy, but was terrified to try any of the projects that came in the kit, for fear of ruining them, or making something I hated. So my kit went into a drawer and I havent touched it until this past week, when a co-worker of mine(recently got into leatherworking) motivated me to just make something. So, I made a wallet, and I actually don't hate it, learned alot of what to do, and what not to do.. Located in PDX, or, love to look at everyones work, and read articles, and tips people have.
