  1. Unfortunately, mine is the kitchen worktop and table
  2. A bit SFW than I was hoping for
  3. There's an 'Adult' section...?? How do I join?
  4. Hi, thanks for the in-depth answers. The question was relating more to how others already charge, not how I might do the same. Like I say, i'm a looong way off ever charging for anything I make, if ever. I just like to see how people price items according to what they make and their target markets. Cheers again.
  5. I was experimenting with a bottle of spirit-based 'Mid brown' Fiebing's today... Ended up putting half the small bottle into an almost full 500ml bottle of methylated spirits. The result is a much lighter, antique tan (that's how i'd describe it!) So i've got 1/2 bottle Fiebings and a full 500ml of tan for an extra £2 ($3?)
  6. This is great - And will probably be my next project, so thanks. Do you think the little noticeboard pushpins be OK for holding the leather to the mould?
  7. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere... I was looking through my toolbox earlier, and came across a set of screwdriver bits - from the usual Pozidrive to weirder star shapes (Torx?) So I wondered what it would look like as a stamp... What household items have you guys used to stamp leather?
  8. Would you mind telling me if the sides and bottom were cut from one single strip of leather, or three separate pieces? Or even a picture of the underside?
  9. Love it... very simple (looking) but beautifully put together. I need to make one like this when the skill levels allow!
  10. I'm well away from this stage, but... Just wondering if the pro/semi pro folks could answer this... So you've been asked to do some work - Say a simple wet-moulded document bag - no embellishments, no artwork or carving etc. How do you go about pricing the piece? Materials used, time spent... What's the thought process behind giving a price?
  11. Thanks - Even though the learning process can be frustrating, it's ultimately enjoyable BECAUSE I'm learning... Great forum to learn from, too
  12. Use Photobucket to store images, write some text, then attach the URL for the relevant picture from Photobucket underneath each bit of text... That usually works for me on other forums.
  13. I like the last one - The plainer the better for me .
  14. Hi, just joined this very helpful-looking forum - I've just taken up the hobby and i'm building up a supply of tools and stuff... A couple of very basic projects down, and i'm really enjoying it (a whole afternoon just seems to magically disappear!) So hope to learn a few things here. Cheers, Mark.
