    Nibbler

It nibbles of course. from what I understand they are for nibbling away the shoe sole after its stitched on to get rid of the excess before sanding and finishing. so yes it trim edges away. I picked it up with a bunch of other stuff and haven't had a use for it. Hate to see it just sit if someone can use it. Ross

  12. Thought you folks might like a look at the line finisher I just finished refurbishing. While I don't plan on doing shoes anytime soon. I am looking forward to the buffing and burnishing possibilities. I'm gonna make some form of burnisher for the banjo end maybe or the left side where the sole cutters are living. I am missing a few things on it but I don't think they effect my intentions with it. On the sharpener I know there is parts missing. and there is something missing from the bottom sole cutter. I am missing a couple oil hole screws. Overall I am happy with how it turned out. Happy viewing Ross

    Landis Splitter

Hi Folks Here I have a Landis splitter up for sale. Splitter has been taken apart cleaned oil and painted. The blade in the picture was the one that came with it. Both sides have a chip out of it. It has been sharpened and it worked in the machine but it is near the end of its life. There is a new blade that was home made in it that is cutting fine but is slightly thinner. Any questions just ask. Need more photos let me know. Sold as is of course. Possible could be shipped at buyer expense. Local pick up in Pocono region of Pennsylvania. Asking $1200 shoot me and offer and we can talk about it. Thanks for looking Ross
  15. Hi Folks, Here is a singer 29-4 complete with treadle base. Whole machine was taken apart cleaned and oiled. New paint job as well. I am no expert at adjusting but it sewed and looked fine. Might need some minor tension adjusting. There is a crack in the foot peddle, its does not appear to affect function and has been there for some time. Belt is new. Pictures below, feel free to ask me any question or if you would like more photos let me know. Asking $800. Feel free to shoot me an offer you cant offend me and happy to talk about it. Local pickup I would say is needed since its size. Located in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. Sold as is Thanks for looking Ross

  19. Chris, The bamboo was a interesting event. A good friend of makes/made graphite rods at the time I meet him. Basically buy the blank and put the handle and the guides and so on. I kidded him so when are you gonna make a bamboo rod. He told me theres is too much to it you need two many tools. Well long story short the two of us either made or got what we needed and made a 3wt bamboo rod for each of us. Then we decided we needed a 5wt as well. So we both have a 5wt and a 3wt bamboo rod. It took a ton of time a long learning curve but it is really neat to be on the stream casting a bamboo rod you made with a fly you tied on the end. I mention this as a fair warning if you fall for the romance of the bamboo and like to make things you can lose a lot of hours in the shop I attached a picture of the rod and a leather case I use that holds one fly box. or two small ones. That looks great what you finished there I like the picture too with the fly box in the back. I am glad you listened to that artist. You are creating some great stuff. Ross
  20. Corn bread and cooling rack ....WOW and $175 to boot. That would make me chuckle for sure. I am glad I was able to buy them. A lot of them had tacks in them and even some wood pegs that looked home made. Granted a lot of the tacks had surface rust. Now to figure out what I will do with them. I am sure I can put some of them to use around the shop. Ingrid you mean you don't carry one of these around on jobs to sort your nails Ross
  21. Hi Folks, Just thought some folks might like a look at some nail cups I just got. I cleaned them up and painted them(I know I know all the antique folks just cringed.) Five of them have a base one does not. Three of the bases say Star nail cup. The other just nail cup and the last has nothing on it. Happy looking Ross
  22. The die I am missing for this is the Q5/Q13 die ...it is a die you can filp over either on the 5 or the 13. By any long shot does anyone have just the die laying around they wouldn't mind selling? For some reason I feel the need to have a complete setup. Ross

    Landis 5 In 1

Hi Folks, I recently got a Landis 5 in 1 which I do not need as I have a 3 in 1 that suits me just fine. This machine had a going over and a new paint job. I am selling it in as is condition. A few things the skiving blade seems just fine The round cutting blade has seen a lot of use and is at the end of its life. It will cut heavy leather but it really needs a new blade. (I believe this one had the serrated blade on it. shoe systems plus has it listed at $69.50, I have no affiliation to them) Welt roller looks fine to me I don't know how to test I did run a shoe through it on the welt and it rolled it through fine. That being said I have never used one. Apparently at one point in its life a gorilla used it the blade guard looks like it got turned into the feed wheel and the handle at one point was broken. The handle was brazed you can see a bit of shiny brass I think poking out from the black paint on the handle. Assuming you wont be dropping this off at the zoo for the gorillas to use it seems to work fine. Everything else appears to turn as it should and its looks good and would make a pretty and useful addition to your shop. I am not a professional restorer of these machines but I try to do the best I can and try to list them to the best of my ability Feel free to ask me any questions I can take more pictures if you like too. Lot of life left in this machine. I wish I took a before picture it came out real nice! Asking $750. Shoot me an offer worst I say is no thanks. Shipping? I would prefer a local pickup if possible. I am in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania around the Lake Wallenpaupack area. However I would consider shipping if shipping is paid for, I am assuming it will be pricey due to weight. Thanks for looking Ross
  24. Thanks for the explanation chris, I have a friend who tooled a the way you do and I have been meaning to try that One if these nights I will have to give it a go. I also have the fly fishing disease complete with bamboo
  25. That looks really nice. do you make your own pattern for the flys you are tooling? Ross
