On second thought carnauba creme is for smooth areas I bet it would be bad I know it leaves white powder looking stuff if its not smooth -

I'm in no position to judge others work but that was crappy maybe the guy is homeless and works in the dark while on drugs. I saw a guy on Instagram who makes nice things make a knife sheath look rustic and sloppy on purpose and didn't understand why People may want stuff to look that way idk

I see this thread is over a year old but if anyone is still looking What type of snap would one use on a pick case ? The glove snaps ? Line 20? I know the line 20 I got from tandy would work but all the other ones I've seen are two hard to open for small things

Pre Made Wallet Interior
jus10 replied to glockanator's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Lol a lot of older men use the tall wallets in my part of TN and a lot of people these days who ride motorcycles are rich so it seems like a good thing to make I just think the store brand at springfeild look like they may be better I noticed a few of the interiors didnt have much on room around the edge to sew -
Pre Made Wallet Interior

What's the quality like ? I had someone really wanting me to make them a "biker " wallet for a boyfriend of hers and have never tried one plus after getting the thinner leather and lining i would spend more doing it my self so I could charge less with one of these and I would want it to be really nice -
http://springfieldleather.com/30087/Lining%2CTooling-Pigskin/ I was wrong about the price but there is some predyed for cheaper under lining
-
This is off topic but has anyone seen iPhone cases that can be used while on the phone ? The only person I've seen making them is in Asia they use the brand name "Nerb" I saw them on Instagram this seems to be a very untapped idea
-
But I guess you want the pockets noticeabley thinner then your 2-3 oz . I know I saw something on springfield that was under 2oz but I don't think it was smooth
-
I've been looking at 2oz smooth pig skin it says it can be dyed and its (I think ) 1.99 sq ft may be 2.50 I remember it was cheaper then bovine
-
There is a conversion chart you could just print it off and hang that up or keep it with the tool I guess I like the caliper idea that would come In handy with a lot of stuff outside leather .
-
**update *** Never mind the 1-2 oz I just got some 3-4 and its as thin as the stuff I got off eBay labeled 1-2 oz On a side note I got the 1 sq ft of Herman oak at almost the price of 2 sq ft not knowing better and its not really in perfect condition the way one would expect from springfeild's description it's got some pen marks and a lot of handling marks but o well I hope the large order I do is better

Scratch the 5/6 I think around 7/8 would be more versatile . I gotta stop using my phone to shop lol I see tons of things and options on the PC I haven't seen on the mobile
-
I'm about to get a swivel knife and some stamps and learn tooling so I guess I'll screw up a lot and need a good amount .I think something around 5/6 would be good to get a lot of and stick to just a few sq ft of the others
-
I really would like to try my hand at a range of things and that would require some 2/3 or 3/4 and some 5/6 and I guess for large knife sheaths 8/9 or 7/8 and I can't buy 3 or 4 for sides all around the same time while not selling anything
-
I have always looked at Springfield on my phone but I used my pc the other day and noticed a lot of the "tooling" sides and shoulders have an option to select sq ft ranging from just 2 to a lot . I'm not sure if they really want people ordering 2 sq ft at the normal price or not and it may of even been some technical error

Johanna I've been looking at your pics trying to guess the location of the hidden pocket lol
