  1. Good choice on the 4000. I don't need the extra length so I'll stick with the 3000. :D
  2. Looks darn good Bruce. I will have to try some of that with my next brown project.
  3. Looks like if fits the gun real well. You maybe a little strong on your boning for an IWB (good for OWB) and especially around the trigger. Great first attempt and keep up the good work. Ask questions
  4. I currently use a 1909 wood workers vice (large and smooth surfaces and weights about 50 lbs) that has 1.5" screw that with the 1" gum rubber works great for most of my needs. I hand bone the leather after a few minutes in the vice.
  5. You won't regret it. With the powered machine you can do a lot more stuff.
  6. I listened to Bruce, Kevin from KD holster and Nate at Ugly Bald Guy holsters and bought a Toro 3000 for my stitching needs. About $700 more delivered but worth every penny IMHO.
  7. I agree. I just put them in front of a fan. You might want to reduce the size of the belt loop unless the customer asked for 1.75" because it will cause the holster to move around. 95% of my holsters have 1.5", 4% 1.25 and only 1% 1.75. You can also bevel the edge on the slots to make it easier and less sharp on the belt slots and aids in slicking the belt slot. Hope this helps. Very good look and functional holster all in all. Keep up the good work. :D
  8. I have not ground down the foot but have thought about it. But like Bruce said, when you hot wet form it they generally don't show up so I have not. I might grind down the back half of it to reduce the size but that is about it.
  9. Beautiful job on the sheath. Fantastic look for a interesting knife.
  10. I have and have used Pull the dot type and normal 24 snaps and the 24 snaps work great most of the time. If someone asks for it, I use Pull the Dot.
  11. Best place for Blue Guns is... cost, service and shipping. http://www.tacticalselfdefense.com/Products/trainingguns.htm
  12. Looks good and functional holsters. Looks like the customer gets a couple of options on what to carry.
  13. Great looking holster for your MP9/40c! It is my favorite carry gun.
  14. Here is the best place I have found. Good price and shipping with great service. Let them know I sent you. I have an order of 10 forms coming from them. http://www.tacticalselfdefense.com/Products/trainingguns.htm I have a couple of the red ASP forms and some Blackhawk forms they all work well. The new Blackhawk forms are very good quality and detail but only a few guns available. Erik
  15. Nice looking holster Boom! I can see it could be an interesting challenge stitching it.
  16. Your designs are coming right along and very good quality. I can't wait to see what you do next.
  17. Nice work Bruce. What top coat did you use for the matte finish?
  18. Very nice job. I'm going to be giving some inlays a go here this next month on a couple of holsters.
  19. Very good looking mag holders! Very functional and good quality. They should sell well.
  20. Welcome to the forum. The best way is to make your own. Take paper and pencil to make a bunch of different patterns. Use patterns to put around the gun until you find one that meets your particular needs. That is how I determined mine. Using someone elses pattern may not be a good solution to meet your need. Hope this helps.
  21. I use a half moon wood cutting chisel for making top and bottom slot holes and cut the leather in between the ends. I'm sure there is a ton more uses for older wood working tools and I would like to here what other people use.

    Edge Slicker

I use deer antlers for edge slicking since day one. It works great with just plain water as a slicking agent and easy to use.
