  2. Glenn asked for me to post some photos of my restored Patent Elastic Machine. machinehead : thanks..... yes - I think one of the Bradbury machines shuttles would fit this Jones Patcher..but again a rare item itself.
  3. C.S. Jones [this one is missing the shuttle and a Singer 29 is too big to fit..any ideas what shuttle might be suitable ?]
  4. You're welcome...probably found it on this site. .can't recall. Still looking for the other one...have a few other original manuals to pdf..but scanner is playing up and takes sometime to do without damaging the manual.
  5. Hi Glenn I used a star scrapbook die cutter (Fiskars or such)..mapped the placement on vinyl, cut the stars and painted on.Freehanded vinyl star cutouts in the trickier places.
  6. was recently asked if I had a manual for a Colibri patcher - sorry no - but found I had this one for the Patent Elastic Patcher. sure I have one for the Bradbury - pdf maybe on another old PC around home... Claes+Elastik+I+u+III.pdf
  7. Hi Glenn I went to reply to your message and it said that I was banned from the conversation. .?? whatsup?.. confused... have I been hacked? machine pictures in my gallery page to answer your question
  8. Renaissance wax..the only stuff I found to preserve polished steel well [plating is better of course but $ and hard to find a good operator here] ..light oil does evaporate over time and grease ain't always convenient. Check the patent patcher in the photo gallery - machine is in a situation like yours - the steel work is unblemished .. as said- it pays to cover the machine.
  9. Singer 45ksv100 Try Steve Brambley or Acorn_hip_flasks_ltd on ebay.co.uk.. they had one for sale last year but listed at 7000 pounds
  10. Hi .. it is a BUSM# 2..it has a different and smaller shuttle to the #6 machines [sorry;I don't have any spares for this] refer to my gallery .....there is a BUSM #2 shown there.. Oh yes ..to Steve..been preoccupied with some issues, but haven't forgotten to copy and send you the Campbell Randall manuals and other literature [sorry mate!]
  11. in sunny (but chilly) Houston

  12. off later today...NZ...USA [CA,FL]...HN,MX...USA[FL,PA,TX,CA]

Have a nice trip, and do not do anything I would not do (thats not much):)

  13. what model number of Adler 167 is it? ..there are a few variants enclosed Brochure shows the model type applications. As Wiz said ..most were used for [high speed]clothing manufacturing [jeans] and upholstery...heavier sort of work. I have a 167-72. Leaflets_Adler_Class_167_part1.pdf
  14. use a cheap H Frame press ..supercheap @AUD$149...[6 ton] case the leather ... use "firmish" rubber under the leather [metal plate ,rubber, leather, metal die, metal plate] not fast; but it will work well ,giving a deep[and lasting ] impression.
  15. Hi Tor [not Trox!!], there aren't many [or any?] needle awl machines here either [just short throat sole stitchers eg/. Landis 12,Pederson's,Gritzner's]. I actually haven't heard of another one here- just like the Singer Class 97 - I think there are 3 x 97's in NZ [naval base, museum and mine] I have a Dania 150 & a Gritzner [on power stands]. thanks.
  16. HI Pcox, thanks for the help in getting the info ...
  17. Hi Trox, very first thing I did ...... emailed last week and no reply .... next step will be getting the timezones right and actually phoning them at cost [or just ask here in the meantime] figure 220 lbs[~100kg] or less...but then could be way wrong. thanks
  18. Hi All, what is the weight of a Campbell Randall stitcher ?[just the head - not the stand]. This a "standard" Campbell [not a high lift or Cyclone] Steve [Australia] gave me quite a good estimate, but I think I need to be absolutely sure as the shipper just might come back at me if I under quote [mainly safe handling besides cost] thanks

From the album: gordond's Machinery NewZealand

one in the 8 machine job lot. the base had a lot of surface rust-has been stripped and rust proofed. the machine head was grimy, but only minimal rust in the usual outer body contact points. awaiting restoration ,need to order the correct colour hammerfinish paint. [mid-green colour is not sold in NZ anymore]

This long arm was owned by forum members [Donna, then Al Muckart]. now in my machine stable....no restoration for this one as the machine has some good [NZ] provenance. needs some functional tweaks [nothing major]
