  1. Point well taken, well said, and you are right...
  2. Someone get burnt toast this morning :-) You can deal with some of the people some of the time, BUT, you can't deal with all the people all of the time! I just ignore or don't respond...
  3. From an old Yankee, Squeeze the socket part of the snap just a tad with a pair of pliers? That usually works for me, just say'in...
  4. Why not a new Consew rb205-6 for 1270.00 shipped or a Consew p1205rb for 1095.00 includes shipping? Then you can see what you want. I have a Adler 205-370 and it's a pain to set up for lighter thread. I bought a Consew to do the light work.
  5. Hi there, I just went through the same scenario, used machines are expensive. I bought a RB205-5 for 1270.00 delivered, you an also get a Consew P1206 delivered for 1095.00. That's what I would do, new machine, new warranty! I have a Adler205-370 and a Consew 206, the Adler will sew 3/4 " the Consew 9/16" If I were you I'd look at the different Consew models and you wouldn't have to leave your home I would also recommend Zamirsew.com or call and ask for Zamir, great to do business with and a ton of info. Hope this helps George Unionlevelleather.com
  6. Hi Stephen, I have a MT900 foot press from weaver leather. They stock a wide verity of different types of rivets as well as snaps and spots etc. It's pricy but if you sign up as a wholesale client there is quite a large discount. They make it easy to qualify. Hope this helps George Unionlevelleather.com
  7. Hey Wiz, I'm leaning towards the Juki, the Consew's start at about $1000 to $1400 and the Juki is around $1500, In for a penny, in for a pound! I like the fact that the Juki is made in Japan rather than China appeals to me. The Premier series seems to be made for a price point, I'm sure it's a great machine, but? I need a machine for sewing multiple layers of Canvas, Light leather and Cordura. Do you have any suggestions on another model that might serve me well? What do you think of the new Consew 206RB 5? Thanks again for all you knowledge it's been helpful. George unionlevelleather
  8. Hello everyone, Im looking to buy a new or used machine for sewing canvas, heavy cordura and such. I have a Adler 205-370 and its a pain to reset the machine every time you need to switch to a much lighter thread. I'm looking at the Juki DNU1541, Consew 206RB and the Consew Premier P1206RB. they all look good and from what I gather The Juki is most likely the best choice even though the Consew Premier looks like a good value. My concern with the P1206 Premier would be the automatic oiler at slow speeds. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance, George Unionlevelleather.com
  9. Thanks everyone, I've tried leaving a little longer but he front is already sewn so it ends up skewed, you can be a little off but not over a 1/4 ". Gluing is not an option because the leather is too thick and won't make a 90 degree fold. What I did was make the front panel a 1/2" inch wider and longer, measured the circumference and starte on the same measure on the back panel, now it looks right. Trial and leather😎 Problem solved, my Dear Watson! Actually as you can see in the attached picture the front panel would be hard to flatten out. I'll attach a picture later as the ones I have , the file is too big😕 George Union Level Leather
  10. Hi Guys, I hope someone can answer a question for me. I'm sewing a small 6 X 14 single saddle bag of 8 oz oiled Latigo with a 12 oz flat harness leather back. The front is sewn together first then that is sewn to the back panel. Some come out even and some are an inch or more off when I get to the top on the other side after sewing the front to the back. It has me baffled, is it the rounded corners? I can post pictures if need be. Thanks in advance, George, Unionlevelleather.com
  11. Are you threading the machine correctly? Make sure the thread goes through the take up arm, if not it will give you a birds nest underneath. How do I know this
  12. Walmart kitchen Dept. White poly food safe cutting board, inexpensive and I've been cutting and pounding and punching on it 7 days a week for over a year, I buy a new one for the kitchen and use the old one for the leather shop, now I have two, the old and the new (used) they are about 16x20 " offhand I'd say they are about 15 bucks or less ... I might have run it through the wood shop planer once to resurface! Unionlevelleather.com
  13. I've had no luck with tubular rivets and caps, about 1/3rd of them come undone. I have a weaver foot press to put them on. I just don't trust them. A jiffy rivet or like would work, or just a copper splash rivet.
  14. Hi everyone, I'm looking at a few different machines to sew 1000 D cordura, heavy canvas etc. Consew 206RB5, Consew P1206RB and Juki DNU1541 The premier 1206 has a better price and auto oiler. Can anyone explain the difference in these machine ? I have an Adler 205-370, is it possible to make this machine sew lighter fabric Softener, that would solve my dilemma and save me a bundle of cash! Thanks in advance, George Unionlevelleather.com

  16. I used ohio travel bag they are easy to work with and prompt. I use Weaver Leather Supply now, I like their quality, selection and service.
  17. Here is a picture of the machine...
  18. I sew 3-5 oz leather with 207 thread and #18 needle and sew 12-14 with 277 thread and # 25-26 needles. I haven't sewn anything thinner. You can contact Ryan at Neel's Saddlery and ask him, he is a dealer for Cowboy machines and is a wealth of info. The only reason I'm selling this machine is to move up the the Cowboy 4500 for the larger work I do. I hope this helps... George
  19. Cowboy 3200, I have one in the for sale forum for.... 1600.00
