  3. I dampened the leather to fold the gusset out for gluing.as far as the center, the two sides are hand sewn to the center I punched the holes in one gusset, glued it to the center then glued the other side of the bag, used a sewing awl to put the holes the rest of the way through.
  4. This is my purse, designed like the diaper bag I did for my daughter but much smaller.
  5. Started on the two of them late Sept. working only a couple hrs on Wed nights and Most of Saturdays since then. the larger two sided one took the longest as I had to make my own purse pattern for it and a huge learning curve on the gussets. The tooling design on both were old Al Shelton designs.
  6. Make the mistake of asking my daughters what they wanted for christmas way too close for Christmas. Youngest wanted a med. size purse and the oldest wanted one the size of a diaper bag. For you youngest I was able to find a pattern from an old kit that Wayne at Standing Bears Trading post let me borrow. The initials on it came from work, they were for eyeglass temples. The oldest I made a pattern similar to a saddle bag using the accordion gusset that Wayne suggested to me from Stohlman's case making book. I made a single center back. Anne

  8. Wow what an honor!!!! Some of you seen in my previous post the motorcycle seat that I covered and donated it to Glendale Harley Davidson's Love Ride. Through my social networking on myspace and Facebook I was contacted by bikernet to write a bit about my donation. Here is the link to it. There are many others from this group who are also featured on that site! Check them out also. How honored I feel to be featured on that site and also among the other Leather crafters featured there!! If you on that site, and I know several of you are "Shout out"! http://www.bikernet.com/garage/PageViewer.asp?PageID=2815

  10. This is my second Motorcycle seat. It was meant to be a charity donation to the Glendale Harley Davidson Love Ride 26. When I approached Oliver about donating the seat as a raffle item he suggested that it go on the actual bike that they will be giving away during the ride. My name is mentioned on the 2nd link page below. This charity ride supports 11 different charities. Please feel free to join as a member of the slide group and post pictures of your work. Also if you would like to make a donation to the Love Ride you can sponsor me at the 3rd link. http://www.slide.com/r/kCyV2MVY0z-ad2iuHW61QZh1ls6D7H1v?previous_view=lt_embedded_url http://www.loveride.org/lr26/prizes/ http://loveride26.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=319776&lis=1&kntae319776=327F7D11F81041D7B562BBBF4F23C8F0&supId=267925845

  14. Use a black crayon, rub it into the impression of the numbers and the rest will rub off the shaft.
  15. According to George what he told me several weeks ago was that they did not renew his contract. So it is not that he was Fired as you stated. Quite a bit of difference when you are not a direct employee and when you are doing contract work! Employees get fired. Contractors whose contracts are not renewed are not considered Fired.
  16. Just wondering how wide of area you are covering? I would think that using 1/8" lace it would have to be pretty wide for it to look right. Just wondering how wide of area you are covering? I would think that using 1/8" lace it would have to be pretty wide for it to look right.
  17. Stock seat fits 07 - 09 Harley sportster
  18. I am making a seat. I wanted to transition the mex round on the ends to the flat braid of it down the sides. I have been trying to figure out the transition from one to the other but can't seem to get it to look right. In theory I know what to do but it just isn't working. If I can't get it I will just do it as different braids butting into one another.
  19. Has anyone used this where they went from a side (two thickness of leather) to turning a corner and it becoming a flat braid?
  20. Call Chan Geer, he lives in Sheridan. Make sure to ask him about the snow....... if you would like his number PM me

I am sure either would be more than happy to be of any help to you. The Lone Star Guild is also meeting at Hide Crafter there on Camp Bowie also. Ask Ron about them.
