Today the guild held a training class for instructors of the upcoming Mask Making class, It was great to get together and share skill and ideas on mask making. Here are a few pictures from the training session Our upcoming class is in late October and will be open to member and non members alike. if you are interested in participating please feel free to contact James Thomas or myself the class will beheld in laurel Maryland close enough for most folks along the Chesapeake to participate We intend to have a masquerade party sometime after the class to show off what we have made

I was wondering if leather crafters in the Washington D. C. area (including Northern Virginia and Maryland) have any interest in meeting up for a cup of coffee and conversation about leatherwork? Nothing formal, mind you maybe a opportunity to exchange ideas, trade skills and hints. I have been doing leatherwork for too many years to count (started out learning and buying supplies at the Tandy store in Landover Hills way back in 1974). I got two from the local cemetary that are used under the bronze memorial plaquards . Both have minir chips in the corners and are 4 inches by 24 inches t at $5.00 a piece ya cant beat it ! and use rubber stall matting underneth for sound deadening works great for me! Good Luck Bill

Not sure this will help you but, durung WW1 apparently there were women that went over seas with the solders and they were in some type of uniform well, I have seen the "bullet proof" bra that was issued in the forward areas. Perhaps theese women were nurses I dont know. If I rememebr correctly they were made from sole leather very stiff and non pliable dyed black with rivets and brass buckles perhaps a serch of Ebay may find one that could assist you in making the costume you want.

Papa can you spray a test pattern and post a picture on here? I may be able to assist if I can see how you brush is spraying . It may be possable that you may need a touch up gun to lay down the propper amount of materals to give you a consistant color instead of a air brush.
